I have been on Ocella birth control (pill) since around aug.2008. In November i was diagnosed with a pre-cancerous skin lesion on my vulva but got that taken care of. At the time, i was also diagnosed with a little cyst on my ovary..nothing major, it went away. But here lately, it feels like im starting to get another one on the same exact spot. I have read that birth control is supposed to prevents these since Estrogen and progestin birth control pills prevent ovulation. Functional ovarian cysts do not form without ovulation? I still have regular periods, 6-7days long, sometimes their a little heavier than usual, my last one i actually had alot of clots, is this not a good sign?? And does this mean im still ovulating or fertile because of the cyst i have had??

lose weight on birth control pills?

Is it possible to lose weight while on birth control pills?

My doctor just prescribed me birth control pills for my ovarian cysts….I was planning on losing weight during the summer.

I’ve heard that people gain weight instead of lose it……so is it possible that with exercise and a proper diet that i’ll be able to lose weight?

Anyone else with chronic abdominal/ovary pain?

I had ovarian cysts about two years ago, and although they did not come back in the following months, (Ultrasounds showed none) the pain persisted. Now, I have been to multiple doctors and specialists, ranging from gastrointestinal doctors to women’s care, and haven’t found anything to help. I’ve tried herbal supplements, diet changes, different exercise, acupuncture, birth control, and not found any relief. Any suggestions from women with the same problem?

Weight gain??

I have put on some kilos recently without actually changing my diet (I actually eat low fat foods and in small portions). I am really worried about this.
1. Could it be an ovarian cyst since I don’t have any other symptoms?
2. Does it have anything to do with the morning after pill, which I took three months ago?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
I want to add that I get my periods regularly without any change or pain, and most of the weight seems to accumulate round my tummy.
No, it’s not my period. This has been going on for two months. And I just finished my period.

Ovarian cyst pain and diaphragm?

I recently got a diaphragm for birth control and this all might be in my head but I have to ask. Is it possible that you would feel ovarian cyst pain when you put your diaphragm in? I have a 5mm cyst on my right ovary and definitely know the pain I get from them (I’ve had them rupture). I just put the diaphragm in for the first time and it seems that I can feel the twinging an ovarian cyst sometimes causes - is it possible that the diaphragm ruptured the cyst?

Ovarian cyst while on Birth Control?

I have been suffering with ovarian cysts for about a year now with irregular periods since my period started. lately, I do not seem to have any periods until the cysts burst which is excruciating. I have been prescribes percocet and birth control pills (combined pill called zovia). I have been on the pill for 3 months now, starting after my last ovarian cyst rupture so it was supposed to be done with. I have been taking the pill regularly at the same time and this week have started having symptoms of a cyst. Now my right ovary is radiating in pain like a cyst is about to rupture.. same feeling I have gotten with every cyst before.
Has anyone else been on birth control who has this same problem? Did the pills work for you or did you continue to get cysts?

Anyone have any insight as to why I am still getting cysts if I am supposedly not ovulating? Thanks (ive tried google with no good hits and calling my dr. tomorrow to get an appointment sometime this week)
I’ve already had bloodwork which he said was alright except my biliruben levels were pretty low. He mentioned PCOS but said he wanted to see if the birth control helped first. He seemed pretty confident that the dose of birth control her gave me would be sufficient in stopping my ovulation. Has anyone had this happen to them before? Thanks.

How do I get rid of Ovarian cysts?

I have ovarian cysts and they are very painful especially when I work out. I had them in the past and was given birth control pills by my doctor. The pills helped, but I gained weight in the process. Does anyone knows how to get rid of them, non-surgically? Anybody has ever had cysts before? Serious answers are welcome!!

I’ve been having pain in the lower right side of my abs, beside my pelvic bone. It’s a dull pain with sudden sharp pains. But I’ve been on BC for a year and I heard that BC can treat ovarian cysts. So what could it be? Could it still be a cyst? I am not having any trouble peeing so I don’t think it’s a bladder infection?
You said that you had a cyst the size of a lemon? Are you able to feel that when pushing down on your side?

Could this be Ovarian Cyst pain?

Every night I lay on my left side it hurts bad? When I wakeup in the morning it hurts bad on my left side.I was wondering could this be a Ovarian Cyst or what?

Do I have an ovarian cyst?

I have been getting pains when I’m ovulating. But not like cramps. i usually do get cramps but this has been a little more bothersome. Sometimes I feel like I can feel something in my lower abdomin. There’s no way I’m pregnant. I started a new diet within the past new months and have lost about 26 pounds and i don’t have BM’s as often so at first I thought I was constipated but the day I had the worst pain I went to the bathroom like 3 times that a day and a lot each time. I know I should go to the doctor and I will but I just wanna know if this sounds stupid or not. The pain isn’t unbearable, it’s just "not right." Just kinda uncomfortable. Am I paranoid?

Ovarian Cysts in Early Childhood

by Louis Cruzbaby
Woman are some way are concerned with ovarian cysts during adulthood, adolescence and after menopause. Because these are the times when
these problems are more prevalent. But times and people are changing. Ovarian Cysts in early childhood is becoming more and more common. It is a shock to the medical establishment how a child can develop not only ovarian cysts but also ovarian tumors and cancers.

What is more surprising is that many children are even born with ovarian cysts of the follicular type. You don’t believe me, well might as well check out this study done and published in the Arch Dis Child. 1975 Jan;50(1):45-50. It was found that of 332 stillbirths and recently born babies who died at their 28th day a good amount of them already had ovarian cysts. Cysts larger than 1mm was found in 113 babies. While multiple cysts were found in 48 of the cases and 65 babies had singular ovarian cysts.

This is really a shock. But why? Is this natural or is this due to the life-style and health of the parents? The same study seems to indicate that life-style and other medical factors are greatly involved. This study indicated clearly that the prevalence of ovarian cysts were high in those babies who’s parents suffered from diabetes. Also the Rhesus isoimunization seemed to be implicated in this problem.

What can be done to avoid these problems? First the cause of the problem needs to be addressed. Diet and life-style habits that in some way affect negatively the weight and hormonal balance in the human body must be avoided. Some of these habits are:

  1. Consuming excess animal products
  2. Consuming too much fat in the diet
  3. Too much weight
  4. Lack of fiber in the diet
  5. Not consuming fresh raw fruits and vegetables
  6. Preventing and controlling diabetes
  7. Eating meats that are high in hormones and chemicals

These are just some of the life-style habits recommended for future parents who want to have healthy children without ovarian cysts. Because it is the habits of the parents that lead to these problems. Our children will have to suffer the results of our violations of the laws of nature that govern our body.

This might be a little long to explain it all, sorry ahead of time.

Recently I decided to go to a Doctor’s Weight Loss Clinic. I had gained over 60 pounds in one year for no reason, and it was impossible to lose the weight and keep it off despite healthy diet and daily exercise routine. The weight doctor seemed to think I had Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and said I needed to be tested by a gyno. Thankfully the diet is working. I lost 15 pounds in one month. Unfortunately these results have come with odd problems that can’t seem to be explained.

Not even a week after starting the diet I began a very painful and random period even though I’m on the pill. A few days later after I started my period, I ended up having a cyst that ruptured. Finally I healed and my period ended from that, but exactly a week later I started another period. That period has ended, but seems to have caused more issues. I don’t know if I have another cyst or not, but I’m back to having constant abdominal pain. All through this my hormones have gone nuts. It has caused me to get severe acne, and making things things extremely sensitive to say the least.

I went to the gyno and she basically blew me off. She said it had nothing to do with the diet, the cyst came from me skipping a pill or taking it at the wrong time (I’ve been on birth control for 12 years now, I don’t ever forget to take the pill, and I take it at the same time every night), and that things will just be odd for a month. She also refused to test me for PCOS stating that if I had it, she would just put me on birth control and since I’m already on it, it doesn’t matter. Despite me being in pain, and having some of the same symptoms all over again, she didn’t check to see if I even had another cyst. Furthermore she prescribed another birth control pill similar to what I was on that has low estrogen and progestin, which means it won’t be effective in shrinking or preventing more cysts.

I then talked to the weight doctor, and he had never heard of such problems. I am currently on a low glycemic index impact diet, which is suppose to help PCOS if I have it. Earlier this year I had started a similar diet and started a random period then too, but didn’t stay on the diet. This leads me to believe it’s the diet, and not any of the medications he has put me on. Also, none of the meds have been known to cause these side effects. I have never had a cyst before that I knew about, and certainly didn’t cause these kind of problems. He seemed to be clueless about if PCOS could have caused this. I have another gyno appointment Monday, but I’m looking to see if anyone has experienced similar problems. Has anyone heard of a diet low in sugar throwing off hormones that bad and that fast? I’m desperate, and am in so much pain all the time.

Here is what the weight doctor prescribed:
-low impact glycemic index diet.
-Phentermine 37.5mg
-Once a week fat burning shots that include B 12, B complex, and Lipovite

I have a large cyst which has cause bloating, gas and some weight gain. I have been taking Ortho-Tricycline for years and always experienced ovulation symptoms. My doctor now has me on Yaz to help shrink the cyst. Why would one bc pill work better than another?
