Ovarian Cyst question?

About 6 yrs ago I had a cyst on my ovaries had to have surgery and all was well. I just went to the doctor yesterday for my annual exam and she believes that I may have a cyst again. My question is I know that cyst cause weight gain (which I have gained 8lbs in about 2 wks and I am on a strict 1800 calorie diet) but can a cyst cause you not to be able to loose weight? I have been working out 1hr a day 5 days a wk along with my diet and I have only gained that weight or maintained my weight. Thank you!

I had an ovarian cyst 15yrs ago that torted & cut off blood supply to womb, i had to have an ovary & tube removed by emergency operation, you do NOT need to have a hysterectomy as shalyn v suggests. They are not caused by episiotomy scars, tattoos, teeth problems etc either as onlymatch4u says.
There are many gynaecological reasons for cysts to form. Alot of women get cysts every month that disperse quickly, some stay but cause no problems but some do cause pain.
You need to see a gynaecologist to find out what type of cysts you are getting, then find out how to treat them & prevent them returning if possible.
