Has anyone developed ovarian cysts while taking birth control pills?

I have a large cyst which has cause bloating, gas and some weight gain. I have been taking Ortho-Tricycline for years and always experienced ovulation symptoms. My doctor now has me on Yaz to help shrink the cyst. Why would one bc pill work better than another?
Conventional medicine has really only 3 approaches to treating ovarian cysts – wait and see (& hope that it goes away itself), birth control pills, or surgery. Birth control pills do not always work – is not that unusual for a women on birth control to get cysts. Since the only other alternative available to doctors is surgery, then the first thing they try is to change the pill you are on.
All 3 options fail to address the underlying cause of the cyst, which means that even if it does go away (or is removed) it is quite likely to come back again.
That’s why I believe in the holistic treatment approach for ovarian cysts. It’s totally natural, and addresses issues such as diet, your metabolism, and your hormones. If you can get these right, you will get rid of your cyst naturally and forever, without the need for drugs or surgery.

Maybe because Ortho-Tricycline is the generic version of birth control as opposed to Yaz which is name brand, also yaz may have more of a certain ingredient that helps certain symptoms, not sure though. Good luck!
I believe for the most part that all BC pills are relatively the same, it’s what is used as a base in the pill that tends to differ from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Speaking from personal experience as someone who gets ovarian cysts all the time, my doctor tried to put me on both BC pills you mention, but they only seemed to make the symptoms worse. Now he has me on Seasonique. The symptoms don’t seem as bad as with the others, but I’m still not completely satisfied.
However, prior to the doctor switching me I was on Mircette and never had any symptoms. So I’m going to give the Seasonique a little more time and if I don’t notice a change I’ll ask to be put back on Mircette as I was on it for ten years and didn’t have any problems. Maybe you should ask your doctor about it as well.

What is it like to have ovarian cysts in early pregnancy? Is it painful? Are they more evident in early pregnancy?
During pregnancy ovarian cysts tend to grow. But they shrink righ back when pregnancy leaves. Sometimes there are no symptoms unless they grow too big.
