Ovarian Cancer? – Help!! Nervous and scared!

How can you diagnose ovarian cancer???

I had blood workup done: my WBC was high, RBC , HGB, HCH were all low…my CA 125 was elevated…I had an ultrasound done transvaginal showing a complex (but I dont know what KIND it is) cyst on my ONLY remaing ovary 7cm x8cm…also had a cat scan done yesterday,

I have Endo Stage 4 & recently was told I had PCOS and this is when they found this cyst….

The last 2 mo ive been extremely bloated, diet and exercise are NOT helping, its all in lower pelvic region..

Im waiting to hear from the DR…but i am scared and nervous!!!!!!

What kind of ‘cyst’ would indicate cancer?! I have a family history of this and breast cancer and i am 28 yr old…
THANKS!

I didn’t see in your question where you were asking for the symptoms of ovarian cancer, it appears you are already aware that you have some of the symptoms. There are a lot of types of ovarian cysts, follicular cysts, corpus luteum cysts, dermoid cysts, endometriomas and cystadenomas. Most are benign those that are cancerous usually occur in women over 50. The kind of cyst you have is a complex cyst. These are partially fluid and partially tissue and some of these are cancerous.

PCOS usually produces multiple cysts and can cause potentially serious metabolic dysfunction. PCOS and ovarian cancer do have the same symptoms, but PCOS does not put you at a higher risk for ovarian cancer. However, you family history does.

Your doctor has already done most of the tests used to diagnose ovarian cancer, the only thing left is to remove the cyst and have it checked by a pathologist. Good luck. I hope it goes well for you.
