Are hormone residues in meat and milk causing human reproductive health problems in the U.S.?
There seems to be an increase of ovarian cysts in women in the last 20 years, which is about 10 years after recombinant bovine somatotropin (rBST), recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH), or artificial growth hormone, a.k.a. Posilac was first introduced.
I’ve been around for quite a few years and rarely heard of women having ovarian cysts until the late ’90s. Now, it is rare to meet a woman under the age of 25 who doesn’t have some kind of reproductive issue.
I’m interested in hearing from women of all ages.
What kinds of reproductive issues have you had, if any? What age? Treatment? Does your diet consist of or has your diet consisted of regular beef or milk? Or do you only consume hormone free products?
Feel free to email me if you would rather not post.
The cysts to which I am referring cause debilitating illness in the women who have them, so they would not have gone undetected even back in the 80′s. The illnesses range from excruciating cramps to peritonitis when the cysts rupture. These symptoms were not as common before the 80′s as they are now. It is not the advent of medical technology finding the conditions. There seems to be an increase of women with the symptoms.
The symptoms are usually manageable with hormone treatment, i.e. the pill. Hmmm … I didn’t know many 13 year olds on the pill when I was a kid. Now there are thousands of them that must take the pill because of debilitating illness associated with ovarian cysts.
I have also heard that they are making children hit puberty earlier than they are supposed to and i know that i started my period at ten and had been in full puberty for a while before that and we ate alot of beef i also had two really hard pregnancy and one that was good but now i have ovarion cysts and other problems wow i hadn’t really ever thought about it all being connected to that though hmmmm something to think about by the way i am 28
