I have PCOS and do not have any other sign except for the polycystic ovaries. I've always been thin, my face has always been clear, and I eat healthy. I attribute it to genetics... my family on my mom's side has a history of female problems (fibroids, cysts, etc.). Sometimes changes in your diet can help PCOS, (I think due to the fact that some studies have found a link between insulin and PCOS).

Actually the cysts don't prevent your period from coming. The cysts form because your body isn't making sufficient amounts of a hormone that matures eggs in your ovaries and releases them. Most women with PCOS have an excess of estrogen. I'm personally going to get a hormone test done to see what's up.

By the way, your doctor will probably monitor you while you are on birth control.. (same thing as me, I'm on birth control too). And ovarian cysts are usually not enough to diagnose PCOS.

Hope this helps and I hope you feel better! :) Good luck!
