has anyone been prescribed birth control to stop ovarian cysts?

my cousin has a ovarian cyst and the dr gave her birth control for it. the doctor said the cyst is 4 centimeters and thats too small to do surgery on.
yes i have heard of that b4 . they also use bc for women with endimitrious(or however it’s spelled) . it’s supposed to alievate the pain
really? I had one, and the doctor didn’t do anything about it at first…. then it ruptured and was incredibly painful. The BC pills may be legit, but I would suggest a second opinion about that type of thing. Ruptures are horrible!
yes my sister has to take bc for her cysts…her dr said if she didnt take the bc she cant get pregnant with out medical assistance. make sure your cousin ask her dr about infertility and ovarian cysts and how to prevent it
Yes I had one a few years back and my dr. gave me birth control to get rid of it. Silly me didn’t take the pills and some months later it ruptured and I have to have emergency surgery. I have never experienced so much pain in my life so I suggest she take the pills.
Yes. Im 16 years old and when i was 15 i had to go to the emergency room 2 times casue of cysts, they hurt like hell. i was put on birth control and ive been on it for more then a year. I still get them but not as often, it does help, depending on the person i mean the BC could work it could not. have any more questions?
Yes, I am currently. I am on Yaz, it’s the strongest birth control out there. It helps with the ovulation flow, helps the cysts decrease in size. I must say it works wonders. = )

yeah I got put on birth control because of my cysts. I had cysts on both ovaries and I started birth control in September of o7 and got off of itnin July of o8 and I don’t got cysts anymore. They said without birth control it would be hard for me to get pregnant on my own andni ended up getting pregnant and birth control butni unfortunatly lost that baby at 2 and a half months.
