Ovarian cyst and severe pain after salpingectomy?

I am 22 years old and am having severe pain in my ovary and have been for about a week. I had an emergent unilateral salpingectomy in October for an ectopic pregnancy that was about to rupture my tube. I had an extreme amount of pain after surgery and was finally diagnosed with an ovarian cyst on the same side that the tube was removed. The pain seemed to go away, but now it is back and even worse than before. I am wondering if I should be monitering this with my doctor and what I can do for pain. I am taking 800 mg ibuprofen and its not touching the pain at all. I can never seem to find any information on salpingectomys and what to expect, so if anyone has had one and would like to share their story, I would really appreciate it.
Yes you should be monitoring it with your doctor. A normal cycle does include a cyst or follicle forming on the ovary which then ruptures to release the egg. A Polycystic ovary has many cysts at once and they do not function properly. It is called PCOS when that happens.
