Ovarian Cyst… bad pain down right leg… is one causing the other?

I was in the hospital about 3 months ago for Toxic Shock Syndrome and they did a ultrasound and told me that I also had an ovarian cyst on my left ovary… well I just started my period today and I have this pain going down my left leg that hurts like no other!!!!!! Its seriously about ready to make me throw up it hurts so bad… do you think the cyst is causing it? My medical insurance doesn’t start until January so going to the doctor is sort of on the backburner if I can absolutely avoid it. Help! Thanks!
Sorry the question was supposed to say *Left* leg.

It’s kind of hard to say. I had ovarian cysts and I didn’t get pain down my legs. There were times I could barely walk but never in my leg. Also birthcontrol has regulated mine and they aren’t there. You shouldn’t wait till Jan to be seen. You never know what could be causing this. Clinics are cheaper than hospitals. There are some that are just for people without insurance. Search them on the internet or ask around. Hope you begin to feel better. Oh… try drinking warm beverages. Tea, hot cocoa, apple cider.

I had a cyst removed 2 years ago. The pain in that area was terrible and worse during menstruation. I didn’t have any pain in the legs tho. Did you strain that leg earlier? Any other symptoms like fever, swelling, dizziness? See if you have "Ask a nurse" in your state. It is a free phone call where we live and they can be very helpful.

    Good luck

They could be related. I used to have leg pain with my period and I had no cyst. Keep an eye on it and see if it goes away when your period is over.
