Can ovarian cyst cause this much pain?

It all started about 3 months ago, my left side really really hurt. If felt as if something was pulling at my side, I charlked it up to my IBS and moved on. I started noticing that every month since then, about a week before my peiod that my left side would hurt. I finally went to my Gyno and was told that I had a small cyst. I am curious if that is what could have been causing my side pain, it is also in the bend of my back as well. I went to a doctor this week and they said they thought I had pulled something, but they can’t find what. This is after x-rays and blood tests. Has anyone had these symptoms with an ovarian cyst or should I insist on more tests. I don’t know what to do, can someone please help!!!!
Deffinately. I get cysts on my left ovary and they can be extremely painful, to the point of being in pain when i would walk. My doctor said that usually they are harmless and will go away on their own ( one of mine took 3 or 4 months to go down) and the reason for the pain the week before my period was because of ovulation.If the doctor says that the tests are necessary then I guess you should do them just to make sure something isn’t wrong, but in all honesty it may not be needed. If you’re in extreme pain i would say go to the emergency room just incase.
YES they can. I had an ovarian cyst when i was fifteen, it twisted and I was in agony. It was awful. You should definetly seek more help.
Hi there, u are very lucky that u are facing symptoms of Ovarian Cyst. I had it also but didnt have any painful symptoms other than the fact i was always tired and my stomach got bigger and bigger as time went by.
I would suggest get lil more test done, mine was visualized thru an ultra sound scan. However it was quite big and detected late so i had to undergo an Operation instead of a laser treatment. Dont leave it for last minute please, as i said i never knew i had it until my stomach was awkwardly big and then found out about it, had it operated and found it to be cancerous. 3yrs ago I had the OP and undergone 6cycles of Chemo, and now im grateful that Im healthy again, but with a nasty scar on my tummy which doesnt bother me anymore since i have time with my Family.
So please dont delay the process and get it done dear…Goodluck
my sister had this same problem and eventually it got to were she couldnt even walk and was in massive pain. So YES they definatly can cause alot of pain……….. be careful when you do sports or run or anything straining because itmay make it worse…. hope everything turns out well with you
