The monumental passing of the Health Care Reform Bill has Americans cheering and jeering across the nation. I think we can all agree that heath care did need an overhaul — rising health care costs and lack of coverage by so many was getting out of hand. For some people with cancer, health care costs and insurance can be matters of life and death. I don’t know how many times I have heard patients say “I can’t afford this treatment, even though my doctor says it will work” or “I can’t get insurance coverage because I was treated for leukemia 5 years ago, but it’s in remission”.

Hi:

My mother died of ovarian cancer. She said she wasn’t in pain, but did say she felt pressure in the abdomen. Towards
the end of her life, did have pressure in the vagina and rectum, that we now know was the tumour.

However, she lost weight, not gained. Also the symptoms
you describe, and that she had, could be due to other less
severe illnesses. I was glad to hear you had the test
done. You mention that you have masses and ovarian cysts.
These may not be cancerous, and could be benign growths.

Some of these symptoms seem to resemble that but the one major thing I know about cancer is that you Lose weight instead of gaining it.
