Ovarian cyst with pelvic pain?
I had an ultrasound done about a month ago to determine the cause of my pelvic pain. They found a cyst that is 5x6cms, and I have another ultrasound in 2 weeks to see if it has reduced in size or gotten bigger. I am due to get my period tomorrow, and am having severe, sharp pains in my pelvis. I know ovarian cysts can cause pain, but is it normal to have sharp pain very low in the pelvic area? It feels like it is almost right inside my vagina, not near the ovaries. This isn’t the first time I’ve gotten this pain; every few months I get it at the start of my period, but last month, the pain continued for a long time, so that is why I went to the doctor about it. So really my question is whether this pain is because of the cyst, or is it likely to be being caused by something else? Thanks.
It is from the cyst. I had a hysterectomy over a year ago because I was having the most horrible pain that was located in my left lower abdomen and shot right into my left thigh. It also included bleeding so bad i had to wear a diaper!. Please don’t play around with this because these things usually always end up getting worse and it’s just not worth the pain. I’m not saying you will need a hysterectomy, but I am saying to just make sure you keep an eye on things and follow up with your Gyno. Take care and I wish you good health.
