Went to dr with back pain and ab pain. Ovarian Cyst!?!?
Did an xray that lead me to a CT Scan. I was told that I had a small ovarian cyst and they were going to refer me to an ob/gyn.
I have HORRIBLE constant pain in my right hip/waist/back area (originally led me to dr) I also have sudden sharp pains near both ovaries. Nausua and occasional pain in pelvic area. Is this all from a "small" ovarian cyst? Oh and my last menstral cycle was VERY irregular and I have not had one since July 27th so this one is VERY late. PS I KNOW I AM NOT PREGNANT!
Just got off the phone with the nurse. The cyst is on my left ovary and its 3.0cm. I have been having the pain in my left ovary for over 6 months now.
All women get ovarian cysts throughout the month. Some dont even know they have them and never feel them. I have dealt with them for years. 5 years ago I had a 2 1/2 inch cyst that had to be removed. Last month I had one that ruptured. The rupture was the worst pain I have EVER been through. They will give you pain meds for the pain, but there is really nothing they can do to prevent them. Birth control helps with the control somewhat, so I would check with the OB about that. I was on YAZ and that is recommended usually for this.
They’ll remove it if it’s close tp/at 5 cm. It’s HELL. I know this,I’ve had one,and I had to have mine removed, and it’s yours isn’t so "small". It’s smaller than the ones they remove, but still not small. I had pregnancy like symptoms when I had mine, and wasn’t pregnant. So yes,in short form, everything you’re experiencing is normal for an ovarian cyst. I had to be put on pain meds to manage mine.
Yes, this could all be caused by your ovarian cyst. The pain you are feeling is the body’s recognition of the cyst, and the periods are being sent mixed signals as to when they should occur, because of the body’s response to the cyst. My older sister had one and I know it was very painful for her, and her periods became extremely irregular. You should go see this OBGYN and have the cyst emoved or examines, if it is cancerous or dangerous it could be causing all of these symptoms, but if it is benign, then you should know that there is probably something else wrong that you should get checked out. I hope I helped
