Any ladies here ever had any side effects from birth control? Like, any? Depression, weight gain, spotting, heavy periods, cramps, mood swings, ovarian cysts? Anything? How was it? Are you happy with birth control? What pill are you using? Is this the first pill you tried?
Even if you had no side effects at all, lemme know.

I missed my period tis month and have a large cyst on my right ovary. They put my on Birth Control and said that I would be spotting. The first days I was spotting a little but now it seems like I have my actual period. Lighter but the cramps are there for sure. I just started the BC and I was told that I was only supposed to get my period the last week of the packet of BC. Is it normal to get your period right when I started bc? or could this just be heavier spotting? Also do ovarian cysts cause bloating? And gaining weight? Thank you ssoo much.

Ovarian Cysts - My friend gets ovarian cysts very frequently and what is supposed to happen when then start. Should I take her to the hospital? She is very sensitive to pain medicine so I cant give her anything too strong. I gave her 1/2 of a tylenol codene what should be done. If she waits will the pain start to go away?
This is the 3rd time in the past 2 months that this has occurd and all the dr’s do is give her pain medicine. They tested her and said the worst thing would be to remove 1 ovary… I don’t think so, there has got to be another way?

I ended up going to the hospital and found out I have PID *pelvic inflammatory disease* and an ovarian cyst on my right ovary. What can I do to stop the pain from the cyst? They gave me percocet but I don’t want to take medicines all the time. Will it go away? It’s 2 cm I believe.

I am a 16 year old girl who has had some ovary problems in the past. I get cysts this time of year. The last cyst was said to be massive. About a week ago I started to have abdominal pains, so I went to urgent care. They said I had vaginiosis and a yeast infection. On valentine’s day I got my period but it was extremely light and only lasted two days which is unusual for me. I am going through some med changes for my schiziod affective disorder but that happened last month. Last month I started to have back pains… but I had a back injury when I was a cheerleader. Also from my meds and hospitalisations I have gained about 70 pounds.I read that weight gain as a teen can cause Ovarian Cancer before meneopuase. I have other symptoms too such as nausea, loss of appitite, abdominal pains (as I wrote earlier as well as back pains), dizziness, bloating and frequently going to the bathroom. I’ve also been crying from the pains and I don’t get cramps with my peroid. Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong with me?

PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) causes cysts to form on the ovaries as well as insulin resistance. I was diagnosed with it about 9 or 10 years ago and definitely have all the symptoms: weight gain, large mid-section, excessive hair growth and infertility. After many years of being stubborn, I have finally decided to take the doctor’s orders to change my diet and exercise on a daily basis.
I have been going to the gym for a little over two weeks and I can tell the difference in the way I feel already. I no longer feel like I am having hot flashes, nor do I feel sluggish and tired. The most I have weighed is 207 pounds (at 5 ft. 2 ½ in. that’s a lot of weight). When I joined the gym I weighed 199 pounds. I now weigh between 194 and 195 pounds – it fluctuates from day to day depending on how much water I drink.
I started out doing 30 minutes of circuit training and 30 minutes of cardio. I have upped it to 30 minutes of circuit and one hour of cardio (elliptical, treadmill and bike machines). I have been going five times per week. Also, I drink anywhere from 84 to 100 oz. of water per day. Otherwise, I drink water during the week and I have been avoiding white bread, sugars (other than those in fresh fruit), potatoes, rice, and I have been eating five meals per day (breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner).
I do not eat after 8 p.m. and try to wait atleast two to three hours before I go to bed. On the weekends I treat myself to ranch dressing on my salad instead of the healthy italian. I also may have a few alcoholic beverages on the weekends to treat myself. I do not drink soda anymore and try to avoid drinks that contain soda. I do not eat sweets anymore either. This is a huge lifestyle change for me because I used to eat tons of sugar everyday, and NEVER exercised.

It been about two months, and I have had periods with cramping since the suspected conception, but I’ve noticed it’s kinda shorter. It will be heavy the first two days, then taper off the rest day or so. I’m worried because I have a blood filled ovarian cyst, and I don’t know if that bleeding can be mistaken for a period. Again, I do have normal period symptoms, such as cramps, bloating, and tender breasts- only around the time my period is starting. I feel like I’m gaining weight and becoming more fatigued, and the shorter period worries me.

Im gonna try to make this short, simple and to the point… bare with me please
Im pregnant, I went to the ER last night because I was having really sharp pain in my right side. I haven’t gotten an ultrasound yet. They did a pelvic exam and blood work. They came to the conclusion that I probably have an ovarian cyst. Could the cramping from the uterus expanding and growing, and the ligament pain, feel more intense since I also could possibly have an ovarian cyst?
Im sure someone else out there has been through something similar, please share your story or thoughts.
