Why do I keep gaining weight?
I am 26yrs old, 5’7" tall and weigh 330 lbs! I’ve gained at least 100 lbs since I got married 5 years ago but I was always heavy. We are wanting to have children but haven’t been able to and doctors say it’s due to my weight. I have always had problems with my period and after I got married I was told I had a small ovarian cyst and was told it was normal. I was always given some kind of birth control to regulate my periods and to get rid of the cyst. Doctors suck and never seem to be able to fix me… I have been trying to lose weight since high school, but I just keep gaining it. I don’t think I have bad eating habits because I am scared of getting diabetes or high cholesterol because it runs in my family, so I am a bit more careful about what I eat. I had a physical done at the hospital to check everything and I am very healthy, the only problem is my weight and I don’t know what to do about it. Doctors just say eat healthy and exercise and I do but no results. I don’t even like food… I am rarely hungry and when I do eat, it’s not much. I am always feeling tired and without energy. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I’m just tired of being like this… I’m tired of the doctors that don’t tell me anything, I don’t know what to do, any ideas, or advice would help…
I don’t drink soda and don’t eat many sweets. I rarely eat pastas or processed foods because everything I buy must be kosher. I never eat out because I don’t like anything and eat very simple meals at home.
I’ve been dealing with the exact same problems as you for the last 7 years. And still I have yet to get a diagnosis!
Here are some possibilities that you should look into: PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), Cushing’s Syndrome, Metabolic Syndrome X and Insulin Resistance.
eat too much lol
Try to excerise more.
poo less
If your doctor is unsatisfactory, then go shop for another doctor.
You pay to go see doctors. Doctors are merchandise.
Go buy a different doctor.
Go see a Gynecologist or an Endocrinologist, if your insurance covers them.
You sound like you have a problem those 2 types of doctors would be better at.
Are you on any medications? Certain medications can cause weight gain. Weight gain can also be due to thyroid or hormone problems. Maybe you’d like to do a full blood test to see if the weight gain is due to a health issue? Good luck!
Hi, I think that eating less it what’s making you gain weight ( same boat as me) My doctor told me that I need to eat 6 times in a day ( small portions of food) and exercise for 60 minutes a day.
I think you should see a dietitian not a doctor they will do tests on you. It’s funny the things that you are eating is probably not agreeing with you.
Losing weight is hard, trust me I have 2 children and I know that. I had to use Clomid to fall pregnant but I had to lose weight as well. And when I did fall pregnant I only put on 7 kg throughout my pregnancy.
Good Luck and I think you try this website… it helps motivate me and it’s free… http://www.sparkpeople.com
you’ve answered your question already, you said " you don’t eat much"
and you are rarely hungry…. that means your metabolism is very low…. metabolism is the onw that burns fats and transform it to energy… when you don’t eat, your metabolism stops, so you have to BOOST your metabolism…. eat 6 TIMES A DAY BUT VERY SMALL QUANTITY….. SMALL FREQUENT MEAL A DAY…. LOW CARBOHYDRATES AND MORE PROTEIN,,,, TRY IT….. DRINK ALOT OF GREEN TEA AFTER EATING…. DO THAT FOR 2 TO 3 DAYS AND YOU’LL DEFINETELY SEE A GOOD RESLT,,, when you dont eat your body hold the calories in your body and store it as fat…. but when you it, your body continually burns the calories and fats to be your energy…..NOT EATING IS NOT AN ANSWER, IT IS THE WRONG WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT…. EVEN YOU DON’T EAT IN 3DAYS YOU WILL NOT LOSE WEIGHT….. EAT MORE AND YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT,,,,…………………LOW CARBS REMEMBER?
GIVE ME FEED BAK AFTER 3 DAYS K?
