Ovarian cancer at 16?
I am a 16 year old girl who has had some ovary problems in the past. I get cysts this time of year. The last cyst was said to be massive. About a week ago I started to have abdominal pains, so I went to urgent care. They said I had vaginiosis and a yeast infection. On valentine’s day I got my period but it was extremely light and only lasted two days which is unusual for me. I am going through some med changes for my schiziod affective disorder but that happened last month. Last month I started to have back pains… but I had a back injury when I was a cheerleader. Also from my meds and hospitalisations I have gained about 70 pounds.I read that weight gain as a teen can cause Ovarian Cancer before meneopuase. I have other symptoms too such as nausea, loss of appitite, abdominal pains (as I wrote earlier as well as back pains), dizziness, bloating and frequently going to the bathroom. I’ve also been crying from the pains and I don’t get cramps with my peroid. Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong with me?
it sounds like that cyst burst and that is the cause for all of your symptoms except for the weight gain which i believe is from the medications you are on. all of the other symptoms sound very common with an ovarian cyst bursting. I have had them burst in past, and very large ones, and i had the same symptoms. You are always at risk for ovarian cancer because you are a female but, even more because of the cysts. go to the doc to get regular pap smears and checkups. Try a heat pad on your abdomen to help dispurse the fluid from the cyst quicker so the pain will subside. the nausia is caused by the pain from the cyst bursting and large fluid amount in the abdomen, along with the toxins that are in the fluid. After a cyst bursts it is likely that you will spot some blood and have cramps along with having to go to the bathroom all the time. Drink plenty of water, gatorades, and juices- steer clear of caffiene products as they dehydrate you. You should also take something for the pain such as tylenol or aleve but consult your doctor first due to being on other medications. Hope this helps!
