I was rushed to the emergency room a few months ago, the doctors thought it was my appendix, come to find out it was an ovarian cyst. The pain was horrible, The doctor said that when the cysts pasted, I would most likley get another one.My Question is:
When is the most likley time for another cyst to happen? a few months?, years?
Any Help is Great!
it can really be any of those. they can come and go without you even knowing. they usally go away when ur period comes on. if they dont and they grow they could burst which is what i think happened to you and the same that happened to me….they thought i had kidney stones when i wnt to the er with mine. but anyways really if you had one you will prob have more no knowing when though.
i have ovarian cysts on a regular basis. I’ll try to explain it as best as I can. The egg has a protective shell around it when it’s inside your ovary. When the egg is released (once a month, if you’re regular), the shell brakes open. Normally when this happens, the shell dissolves itself. It’s when the shell *doesn’t* dissolve itself that a cyst is created. You feel the pain when the cyst collapses in on itself and passes through your tubes out through your body.
My doctor put me on birth control pills to help control them. It’s supposed to make them smaller and not grow so big. It will also help against ovarian cancer later in life. I don’t know if you’re against taking birth control, but if this happens on a more frequent basis, it might be something to look into.
Who is your doctor? Maybe see a specialist about these ovarian cysts. They can be cancerous.
What do you mean "the cysts pasted"?
Are you talking about a fibroid?
You can get ovarian cysts because of several reasons:
Hormone imbalances, genetic; running in families and other; which is a combination of many factors and difficult to pinpoint without medical tests, a mystery.
These cysts can grow as large as a 7 pound baby. My sister had to have an operation and have hers removed. They sent the cyst to a pathologist for testing.
They took one of her ovaries because the cyst was so large it grew around it engulfing it in 3pounds of tissue,so now she only has one. They can grow back but that is caused by hormones that are out of whack. You might see other signs of hormone imbalances such as excess facial hair or growths on the neck or skin. Age can play a role in determining where or what the causes for these cysts are.
You do not want to have these remain untreated because they can burst. If this happens you will be hospitalized and could have complications.
