pain from ovarian cyst?

i went to my college’s ER and just found out I have 2 cysts on my right ovary, both about 2 cm long. they only told me i had cysts and to see a doctor on campus. they said it probably doesn’t need to be removed, but i’ve been having constant, aching pelvic pain for the past couple of days. will this pain always be here if i don’t have them removed? is it possible these cysts will just go away on their own?

Cysts can dissolve on their own. I recently had a cyst that measured about 2 cm and had another ultrasound done a few weeks ago and the report came back showing that all was normal. The cyst was no longer there.
But sometimes if the cysts are big like around 4 cm or more sometimes it’s best to have them removed before they rupture. Because when they rupture they can cause even more pain. I’ve had friends that have had cysts rupture and they say that the pain is pretty intense.
