I’m 28 years old I do not take birth control. I’ve had in the past 2 d&c, uterus ablation, and my tubes tied. I just had an ultrasound to see if the cyst on my left ovary has gotten any bigger. My question is I have pain on my left side in the pelvic area. Also pain in my lower back. And it also hurts during sex. It even hurt during the ultrasound. So I’m just wondering what are the symptoms to an ovarian cyst. Now I’m just waiting on the results to the ultrasound. I do not have a period anymore the only time I had blood was when I wiped myself a week ago. But I’ve been in a lot of pain for 2 weeks

Today is the fifth day of excruciating pain. Drs. say there is a lot of fluid that the body has to absorb. What else can be done?

I was diagnosed with endometriois in March 2006 when I had a laproscopy for an ovarian cyst. My doctor suggested that I take lupron shots and I took 6 shots in 2006. My pain has reduced but I guess I am suffering from many side effects such as fatigue, loss of interest in studies, body and joint pains, weight gain etc. I have been doing Yoga for the past two months to reduce my weight and maintain my calm. I feel good immediately after doing Yoga but I don’t see any effect on my other side effects such as body pain and weight. I am desperate to lose weight because I have reflux problem and weight gain aggravates it. I can’t eat and drink as others and always feel sick because of acidity and the side effects of shots. Please help me. I am doing Ph.D in USA and feel terrible because I am not able to concentrate.

For the last year, each month I have had problems with ovarian cysts getting too big and rupturing, and then getting me sick, I’ve had surgeries where cysts were removed from both sides, and birth control pills don’t seem to help. A week ago I went to ER with extreme pain and vomiting, and was told there are 9 little ones between the two ovaries. i know if they are small they shouldnt be bothering me, but none of the other tests done showed any problems! I now have a fever, vomiting, headache, nausea, my pelvic area hurts really bad, and now it feels like my stomach and chest are being ripped to shreds by glass!!! HELP!

I started my period young and had one ever so often thru 6th grade thru highschool. WHen I was a freshman in HS I was put on BC pills because of the horrible heavy periods and ahwful cramping and ovarian cysts. The BC pills heled with the periods but made me ahwfuly moody they tried the patch and a few pills to try and fix the issue, my mom hated it and i hated being so moody so when I was a senior in HS I decided to see what would come of not being on the pill anymore. I felt better not so moody but my periods were whacky again and just wouldnt come…. SO…i went back on BC pills orthro tri cyc lo and was on it for a few years…and my 1rst year in college i had to have a leap of my cervix because of abrnormal cells, and was very upsetting. I met my long time b.f that year and a year later I became pregnant some how while i was still on BC pills. I had a very hard pregnancy with blood pressure and border line diabetic with severe weight gain. Didnt really know my due date one was 11/17 and the second was 12/22..because we never saw the same doctor when we went in. But on 12/6 i went in for my appt and the doctors informed me that my placenta stoped nurturing the baby so i needed to go in and have my son right now. THey sent me to the hospital and started me on the meds for contractions and eventually aften many hours i was dialated and ready to push…pushed for a very long time. And didnt get very far after so much time. The doc came in and was like did anyone see this blood? I was bleeding down the side of the bed from some where and then they decided i needed a csection asap and they rolled me in to have it done. (ahwful exp. but everyone was ok but my son when he was 15mo. old was diagnoed with mild CerebralPalsy not beinable walk &swallowing problems) But now my son is 3 year old &i have had on going spikes of fever/ches and pains and horrible skin. I recently went to see my gyno doc and was put on BC pills due to not having a period in a year? HELP any ideas?

So, I started my period at the beginning or very ends of every month, sometimes my period skips, sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve gotten that checked out and there’s nothing wrong with me in that area, but recently I’ve been feeling and looking bloated. Seeing as it’s a few weeks after my period, i’m a little concerned. When I push on my stomach it seems hard of full? SO I know it’s not weight gain or fat. I generally eat healthy and I quit drinking sodas. Although I took hydroxycut for about a month in October. Then I began using slimquick, with amazing results so far might I add, and I have recently cut off the drink mixes and pills due to my condition now. Along with the bloating I experience nausea in the mornings or certain times throughout the day, headaches all day except for when I eat sometimes, brown discharge or vaginal bleeding between this period, weakness and faint feeling, and lower back pain. I thought it could be a problem with my Kidneys? or maybe Ovarian Cysts? I’m really unsure. Do you have any idea what’s wrong with me? Or had any similar problems?

I have PCOS, and for the first time EVER I got a positive opk the day before yesterday. Yesterday I felt crampy nothing big. Tonight I have pain in my right ovary like it’s being poked by needles. I just recently came off the pill because they were not helping my ovarian cysts. My questilon is…could this be a legit ovulation that is causing pain, or is it the stupid ovarian cyst. I don’t want to get my hopes up if it’s a sham. Please help me! Thank you

Well I had some ovarian cysts about 1 year and a half ago. Unfortunately for me, had a lot of scar tissue and the doctors told me that it would be hard for me to conceive. Well me and my ex didnt use protection and he just let go in me and it was no big deal. I didnt get pregnant. That went on for a year. Started dating new boyfriend and condom busted on us twice. We then decided to quit using rubbers and he lets go inside. Well we been doing that for three months now. Everyone has been talking about my weight gain and ive noticed it too. Then my nipples got super sensitive. Just a small brush sent pain. My boyfriend said he thinks Im pregnant. Well my period just came on on the 13th and I was baffled. It usually comes on at the end of the month. Its like a regular period just earlier than usual. When I woke up this morning my boyfriend said that I was burning up. He asked me was I running a fever. No morning sickness or feeling tired. Come on Ladies tell me your thoughts on this……

I found out i had and ova cyst on my right ovary. I haven’t felt much pain from it. Even when I came on my period I never felt any pain (which is odd because my periods without cyst are usually painful).
But today I keep feeling these odd pains in my lower right abdominal and this really sharp pain (that I get when sitting down or moving) I get in the left lower area of my back. this pain in my back is what concerns me because I don’t remember this kind of pain with my last cyst and it feels like someone keeps cutting my back with a knife.
What shall I do?

OK, so here’s my situation, I am a 24 year old overall healthy female. Recently my dcotor prescribed Yaz birth control to me due to having ovarian cysts. I have never been on any type of birth control for fear of what most woman fear; weight gain, bigger boobs (well some woman anyway), headaches, nasuea, etc etc etc…all the bad side effects.
Every woman’s body is different…yes I know that. But I don’t know what to do. In the recent months I have been bothered by weird acne break outs constantly that will not clear up. As soon as some clear, I break out elsewhere (it’s rather annoying)! I didn’t have acne as an adolscent, why should I have it now? I’m aslo having to deal with abnormally oily/greasy hair, which is also very annoying and very inconvenient when I have to wash and blow dry my hair every single day (which I don’t because it’s inconvenient).
My doctor attributed these symptoms of hormonal imbalances as the primary cause and therefore prescribed Yaz.
I’ve always been anti-birth control pills, but am finding myself in desperation. I am currently a C cup and DON’T want to get bigger boobs.I’ve also suffered from migraines in the past and have heard that BC can trigger them…as for my period itself, well it’s quite manageable. I have normal periods and they don’t really bother me so taking BC is not really to "regulate them" for I already am. It would be more for the acne, greasy hair and of course, to avoid pregnancy since my hubby and I are not ready for that just yet.
Anyway sorry this is so long, but has anyone else been in this or a similar situation? If so what did you do or what would you suggest?
Thanks in advance!

Katherine McCormick and Birth Control Pioneer, Margaret Sanger teamed up after Katherine’s husband gets diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Katherine did not want to pass in the illness to future children, So that work later led to the invention of the birth control pill in 1906. Around 1918, Condoms became another form of birth control in the United States. By 1921, The U.S Birth Rate drops by half. In the 1960’s the FDA approved that the birth control pill was 100 percent effective but had some terrible side effects. Some of the effects were life treating blood clots. They realized that the dosage was about 10 times too high, which was causing these terrible side effects. By the 2000’s there were many other types and forms of birth control that became effective.
There is no “best” method of birth control. Each type of Birth Control has its pros and cons. There is no method of birth control that can completely prevent pregnancy. It can fail, but there is a greater chance to prevent pregnancy while taking birth control. If you use birth control correctly all the time it could be much more effective. The most effective type of birth control would be abstinence.
How the birth control pill works is you take it the beginning of each menstrual cycle, when your estrogen levels begin to rise. Estrogen helps thicken your uterus lining. About 14 days into the menstrual cycle one of the ovaries release an egg. This is called ovulation. After that another hormone called progesterone, begins to rise. Birth control pills are a fake form of hormones, and prevent ovulation.
The different Birth control methods are: Continuous abstinence, meaning not having any form of sexual intercourse. This method is 100 percent effective. There’s the male condom, which is 98.9 percent effective. Oral contraceptives, also called “the pill”, which is 95 to 99.9 percent effective. The Mini-Pill, that is 92 to 99.9 percent effective. The Female Condom, which is about 79 to 95 percent effective. Depo-Provera, this method women get a injection, or shot of the hormone Progestin in the arm every 3 months. This method is 97 percent effective. Diaphragm, this form of birth control blocks the sperm from entering into the woman’s cervix and reaching the egg. This is 84 to 94 percent effective.
Some more forms of birth control are, The Contraceptive Sponge, It’s a barrier method that was approved by the FDA; the Sponge is 84 to 91 percent effective. The Patch (Ortho Evra), It’s a skin patch worn on the lower abdomen, or upper body. It releases hormones into the blood stream; you put on a new patch every three weeks. The patch is 98 to 99 percent effective. The NuvaRing is a ring that let’s out hormones. And is 98 to 99 percent effective. The last form of birth control is Emergency Contraception, which is an emergency form of birth control. This pill is also known as “the morning after pill.” The pills are 75 to 89 percent effective.
Some of the disadvantages of birth control method are Amenorrhea (missed period), Irregular bleeding, heavy bleeding, abdominal pain, headaches, nausea, vomiting, blood clots, can contribute to gallstones and rare liver tumors, weight gain, and weight loss. Some of the advantages are it reduces the chance of unintended pregnancy, can be obtained easily, it can improve your menstrual cycle, can protect from forms of cancer, improves bone density, and can protect you from ovarian cysts.
It’s two pages out of 4. my rough draft.

i think i might have one? well i was put on Yaz about 2 or 3 weeks ago, because my period wouldnt stop. before that i went to the GYN and she examined me, there seems to be nothing wrong so she gave me yaz. it worked fine until about a week ago. i started bleeding again, and still am. even while taking yaz. i’m also having lower abdominal pains, not normal cramping though. the bleeding is pretty heavy also. my gyn wont be back until monday so i am going to make an appointment then. would yaz stop bleeding from a cyst? does anybody know what could be wrong? i think it might be an ovarian cyst, because of the pain and everything else. i’m 15, but i dont think age has anything to do with it. thankyou to everyone who answers.

I am trying to lose weight. I am currently 166lbs. and I would like to go down to at least 125lbs. I am 22 yrs. old and I have recently gained weight because a an ovarian cyst. I was about 96lbs when i was 16 then i got pregnant. I never had to work out before because i was always small but i would like some good dieting and workout tips. Like good diet foods that aren’t bland and tips on walking and lifting weights. All that hopefully on a budget.
I would like to lose the weight before March or if that’s too unrealistic then before the summer time. Thanx in advance!!

I am had some problems over the past year. But within the past few weeks of so I have developed a distended/bloated stomach. Seems as though I had no or minimal weight gain but difficulty getting my pants on. It starts right at the bottom of my ribcage and doesn’t stop until it it reaches my private area. It almost looks as though I am pregnant, but I know I am not. Over the past year my problmes have been with urination and pain. I sometimes get urges to go when I bend backwards. If I stretch the muscle at the bottom of me ribcage (near the sternum) I really have to go! Also, I have been getting cramps during ovulation. It really hurts inside on the left side when I urinate, like near my ovaries. But that is only for a few days to a week or of the whole month. But I do have the urge to urinate throughout. When I push semi-hard on my lower left side I feel a lump. I have had ovarian cysts before and I didn’t have symptoms like this. I have read that my symptoms could be ovarian cancer.
Oh, I forgot to mention that it is not constipation. I have regular bowel movements.
And no gas either.
I don’t eat much food containing milk. My booyfriend is lactose intolerant so we use alot of soy mik products. But I might have to consider that. I know it’s not salt causing this either. I have tried to eliminat a lot of salt out of my diets which wasn’t much, with no results.
I forgot to mention that I full very fast when I eat. I can’t even get halfway thru a meal before I start feeling full. Sometimes I have to force myself to eat it because I know I need to eat and need the nutrition.
I don’t dcrink any alcohol. And I also don’t drink carborated beverages. I drink tea and water only.
