Early Pregnancy Symptoms??
Any input on the following would be appreciated:
- Painfully sore breasts for about 2 weeks
- Erratic body temp (fluctuates btwn cold/hot)
- Disoriented, listless, slightly depressed
- 4 pound weight gain in a week (very unusual)
- Heightened sense of smell
- Persistent craving for tomatoes (and not much else)
- Ear ache & sinus pain
- Insomnia though tired
My cycle is frequently unpredictable due to an ovarian cyst and a home test has not been done yet.
Web searches produce uniformly generic results so feedback from medical pros or experienced moms would be great.
Thanks in advance.
from the sound of it, i would say you’re preg.
i just gave birth to a beautiful girl in july, and i had similar symptoms in last november.
however, i honestly didnt think i was preg, cuz i did take a test at the dr’s and it was neg, but i kept feeling nauseous in car rides, the smell of coffee made me sick, so for some reason i went back to the dr to double check two weeks after the first test, and it came back positive…big huge shock!!!!!!
my bf was the one who thought i was preg cuz the symptoms, but i just thought i was sick, so i took an extra test to clear up any doubts and to get on a medication for what i was feeling, but it was just pregnancy!!!!!!! i had all your symptoms plus the coffee and car ride thing, but not the tomatoe craving.
my advice would be to take a few tests to make sure u get an accurate answer, take them a few weeks apart.
well good luck with it!!!!!!!
and if you are preg, see the dr asap!!
I’m not a mom but it sounds like your pregnant to me!! I know a lot about pregnancy and kids. Congrats to you!!
well you might be pregnant…i definately had some of those symptoms, especially with my third. then again you may be bloated and that could cause the weight gain. ear ache? that shouldn’t have anything to do with it. may have a sinus or ear infection…
if its that early you probably couldn’t get a postive home test result but a doctor could do a blood test to detect it. i think you should go to the doctor anyway for the ear pain and trouble sleeping.
the only way to know for sure is to take a test!!!
good luck (",)
Some of these symptoms sound like pregnancy, but some of them sound like the flu. Since your cycle is unpredictable, I would skip the home tests since you might get a false positive. Go to your physician and she for a requisition to go to the lab and have a serum HCG drawn. This is a more accurate test. Good luck!
before i found out i was pregnant i had these symptoms: cramping in my sides like period pains but not strong, headaches, i felt very tired and very hungry
the ear ache and sinus i think its not with the pregnancy.

good luck x
I don’t think you’re pregnant just think you’re about to get your menstrual. do you feel any change in the bottom of your abdomen? to be sure just go to the doc.
Gee i think you have just answered your own question….all these things you have listed are all part of pregnancy but not all people go through them and that is why they say all pregnacies are different and we shouldnt rely on horror stories told by others…..but tiredness usually first couple of weeks at the start and at the end of the pregnancy, weight gain depends on how much you are eating now?? or that baby could be getting bigger?? sense of smell always changes and usually goes back to normal after birth…( im a coffee drinker and went off coffee with all of my 3 children smell made me sick…) Generally everything or some things do change but its part of life…Any concerns with your pregnancy you should consult your midwife or doctor and always go with your gut instinct….Best of Luck with bubs….
