im 17 and my gyno might put me on birth control for my continuous ovarian cysts.
im really glad because i know it’ll help them go away a lot.
but im also worried b/c i heard you gain weight.
im 5’8 and 110 pounds.
i eat ALOT though b/c my metabolism is extremely high.
my question is that if i go on birth control will i gain alot of weight like other people usually do even thouhg my metabolism is high?
and what i REALLY wanna know is
will it make my chest bigger?
i am a size A and i reallly want the extra size.
The weight gain will not be too bad. But, if you are really worried about it ask your doctor about a low hormone choice like ortho-tri-cyclen lo. If a little weight gain was a concern of your doctor, he/she would probably talk to you about it, but at 5’8 and 110 lbs you are classified as under weight (you could gain 15lbs and still be classified as underweight). Don’t worry about it too much. As far as your chest size, usually when women gain weight it is first noticeable in their breasts, so you may gain a little in your cup, but don’t expect too much growth. Your small cup size can again be linked to you being underweight.
i heard about that too , just try them
Yes, you will experience EXTREME weight gain. You will not even recognize yourself in a couple of months.
my freind had this and the birth control didnt do anything to her weight OR HER CYSTS! ….
Most people do not gain a significant amount of weight on contraceptive pills.
well im 17 too and my parents don’t think that me birth control is a good idea but since yours is for a good reason then i don’t see you ur metabolism should change im around the same height as you too and just maybe an inch taller but im like 153-4? and i really don’t look that big at all..im a size D..so i really don’t know to tell you the truth i hope u don’t get bigger except in your chest..since that is what you want =]
The pill can actually help you lose/maintain ur weight. It can also ease the pain of cramps during your periods. You really won’t notice a lot of difference in your body being on the pill. It can also clear up acne! Which is a bonus!
Don’t sweat it. You are active, you won’t gain weight. The pill could potentially give you migrain headaches; if this is the case your doctor can lessen the dosage (but do not have unprotective sex). If you are on it for several years it can play with your emotions (this happened to me and I eventually gave it up after about 10 years).
Singinggal has a very good answer too! You sound like you are already under weight. I am the same height as you and my doctor scalded me for being 125 pounds!!! She said I should weigh 130. You have a lot of room to grow hun!
I went on birth control when i was 16. And i was about the same size as you. I have a high metabolism too. The birth control didn’t effect my weight or my chest size. (I was bummed about that too). I would not worry too much about it. Keep everything you’re doing the same and if something does change, let your gyno know. A few extra pounds would not hurt you anyways. Im 24, 5’10′ and 115. that is way too skinny. Rumors say that fat is usually gained and lost first at the hips and chest. this could be your answer to increasing your bust line.
i dont think youll gain THAT much weight, but your metabolism might slow down a bit
