What does ovarian cyst pain feel like?

I am concerned about this severe left side lower back and abdominal pain I keep experiencing. It comes every couple of weeks and lasts around 12 hours. It is agony. I am doubled up rolling on the floor and it feels like I am having one long continuous contraction. I had my third baby 5 months ago with just gas and air so I know what pain feels like!! I went to the hospital but they gave my a painkilling injection and told me to see my GP. I went to my GP who referred me back to the hospital for an ultrasound but I have been told I could be waiting weeks for that. When the pain eases I am left feeling battered and bruised internally and my lower abdomen is very tender to the touch. Could this be cysts?
I had a cyst once, a small one. It was like a sharp jab low and on one side of my pelvic area. Have you ever felt a sharp jab around the time when you’re ovulating? If feels like that, only more persistent.
Whatever is paining you, it sounds pretty serious. Please get that ultrasound soon. =( Maybe an ob/gyn could get you in sooner.
Yes, it’s possible that it is cysts. You can generally get an earlier appointment than they say they have available if you complain a lot, so I recommend that–call the doctor a lot. Are you in England? I’m unclear why they’d send you to a GP for a gynecologic problem. You could also go to the doc who delivered your baby and say you think something is wrong as a result of the childbirth–then they might squeeze you in for an appointment.
Just call around for a Genocologist and ask when on the phone if he has an ultra sound. If he does then I would be getting with this guy. But since you need this asap, I would call your health insurance customer service and find out where locally to get an outpatient ultrasound. Then call your present doctor and request they send your doctors request for an ultra sound there. I have had these ovarian cysts and don’t feel a thing, but the ultrasound is the way they observe what kind of cyst it is.
Yes I have them on my left ovary and im 16. it hurts so bad that i am now home schooled.
i usually have to sleep mine off
