my girlfriend recovered from a ruptured ovarian cyst but still has pains in her ovaries .what can she do to help minimise or cure the pains?????
the only thing I found that works is take some form of pain medicine, stay off feet for a couple of days and rest. If this does not help and she can not stand it call the doctor.
Good Luck.
consult a doc …
pain relievers, including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), acetaminophen (Tylenol), or narcotic pain medicine (by prescription) may help reduce pelvic pain. NSAIDs usually work best when taken at the first signs of the pain.
a warm bath, or heating pad, or hot water bottle applied to the lower abdomen near the ovaries can relax tense muscles and relieve cramping, lessen discomfort, and stimulate circulation and healing in the ovaries.Bags of ice covered with towels can be used alternately as cold treatments to increase local circulation
chamomile herbal tea (Matricaria recutita) can reduce ovarian cyst pain and soothe tense muscles.
urinating as soon as the urge presents itself.
avoiding constipation, which does not cause ovarian cysts but may further increase pelvic discomfort.
in diet, eliminating caffeine and alcohol, reducing sugars, increasing foods rich in vitamin A and carotenoids (, carrots, tomatoes, and salad greens) and B vitamins ( whole grains).
oral contraceptives; birth control pills — the hormones in the pills may regulate the menstrual cycle, prevent the formation of follicles that can turn into cysts, and possibly shrink an existing cyst. (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists)
I have an ovarian cyst and I was having pains with mine this morning. I take 800 or 600 mg IB profen. That’s what my gyno gave me and it works for me. Also, snuggling up with my husband and getting him to hold me and my hurt belly helps too!
It depends on how long its been since the surgery and whether ti was keyhole or large incision surgery.
If its been longer than 2weeks, perhaps she should visit her dr or at least call them.
other than that rest, a warm wheat pack and some anti-inflammatories, such as i-bprofen can be taken with food.
my girlfriend had the same problem and pretty much all she can do is take some medicine for it.
she may have new cyst, or , have you ever heard of people who’ve had a limb amputated, but still have pain as if they still had their arm or leg. I also had an ovarian cyst that ruptured, my right ovary & tube had to be removed. It has been 19 years since my operation, and I also experience pain as if I still have them from time to time. If she has the pain 14 to 18 days after her period, it’s because she is ovulating.
