Ovarian Cyst?

My girlfriend is complaining of pain in the lower right abdomen which is radiating to her thighs. She started experiencing it during her last monthly, and she went to a doctor who said she couldn’t figure what that was and that she should take Advil.

When she had it during this monthly, she went back to the doctor who suggested some tests. Blood, Urine, and Ultrasound.

There are NO other symptoms along with it, like fever, dizziness, vomitting. She does NOT feel uncomfortable even while walking, running etc. But she does this continous pain in the lower right abdomen, which goes away everytime she takes an Advil.

Now having researched online, it seems this is a case of an ovarian cyst. But has anyone had similar symptoms? Can anyone tell me how serious this is or could be?

Thing is , I am traveling on business and finding it extremely difficult to go and be with her for these tests and also love her too much to see her in this pain, however acute it is.

well if she went to the doctor and found out their binine or not filled with water she should be fine.. if they big enough or give you medication to decrease the size.

If it was a cyst it should have shown up on the ultrasound. I would also expect that to hurt more during the time she is ovulating, not having her period. Could just be what is normal for her and her periods.

It is possible that it’s an ovarian cyst, but it’s hard to diagnose over the internet since there are so many womens issues that could create the symptoms that you are describing. Coming from a woman that has had painful periods all of her life and had doctors that said I what I was experiencing was normal (cramping is normal but cramps that leave you in bed sick to your stomach are not) I would suggest that you have her ask to see a specialist. Doing this either kicks doctors into high gear or they will refer you. Good luck and don’t worry too much!
