How can I lose weight NOW?

According to my doctor I’m not overweight but I’m not happy with my body. I’m and 20 year old female and I’m 5’4" and weigh about 150 lbs I’m a size 10 in juniors. I’d like to be a size 5 or smaller so I’d probably need to lose 30-40 lbs. In high school I was in marching band so I was always active and I was about a size 6-7 but when I was 17 I had a 15.5lb ovarian cyst and had major surgery. I wasn’t allowed to be physically active for 7 months and I gained a ton of weight mostly in my thighs but then I saw it start to slowly appear on my arms, and my stomach. I’ve tried so many workout videos but I don’t have the endurance for them. I’m changing my diet but I would really love some advice as to which exercises work. Keep in mind I’m starting over as a beginner and my ad muscles are so weak too many crunches or sit ups hurt, not burn. HURT.

    Start slowly! There’s no point in burning yourself out on exercise.

    Cardiovascular exercise does well for inner fitness as well as losing weight; however, building muscle tone helps to keep weight off, as your body burns more calories at rest and during exercise to maintain them.

    Try doing sit-ups/crunches/planks in several small sets to start building a foundation. Don’t work the same muscles day after day, you won’t get anywhere but hurt if you do. It’s important to rest the muscles you just exercised for a day or two.

    Also try squats, step-ups, air bicycling (lying on your back and ‘bicycling’ in the air,) push-ups (starting on your knees is fine, but try to push towards regular), and the like. If you can, invest in weights (ranging from 5 to 15 pounds would be good) or resistance bands.
