Ovarian cyst?

If you have had one you may know what I am on about. If you have ever had a cyst on one side, did pain radiate to the other side of your hip, groin, leg and lower back and did you get increased bowel trouble? I have had a cervical screening and it’s clear….. The hospital wants to operate on me, but I said I want to wait for another scan first to see if its all cleared up… what was your symptoms or do you know anyone who has had this? And could it be anything else?

I have had ovarian cysts every month I haven’t been on birth control for 9 years. I have had all your symptoms atleast once with a cyst. I have also had some of the same symptoms with a femoral hernia. Ultrasound showed no cyst and I was on bc I was sent to see a surgeon and he discoverd a femoral hernia. Also the hernia made my symptoms when I had cysts worse. For some odd reason most of my cysts have occured only on the right side. Cysts can be treated without surgery but hernias cant. If you get severe constipation or can’t pass gas you need to head to the ER because hernias can become stuck and that will lead to severe complications and possibly death. It is up to you on if you have surgery or not but if it is to diagnose the problem I recommend it. For your own mental and physical health you need 2 find out what you are dealing with so you can begin treatment.

Good luck and if you have any questions or need support you can email me. :)

Oh my I remember when I had a cyst on my left ovary. It was awful.I had weird, light, painful periods, back pain, hip pain, stomach pain, constipation, pain when going to the bathroom, and even breast pain. You may need to go to your gynocologist. They can do an ultrasound on your uterus and ovaries. Then they can either operate or give you medroxyprogestrone to get rid of the cyst. They gave me medroxyprogesrtone and I started taking birth control pills. If you have a history of ovarian cysts they usually will come back.In the men time, you can use a heating pad and take some Tylenol or Ibuprofen for the pain.Good luck and I hope you feel better=)

Have never had just an ovarian cyst, but have had chocolate cysts on the ovaries from endometriosis. Yes the pain would radiate to the hip, groin, leg and lower back. The bowel trouble makes me think that this could be more than a typical cyst. However all of the internal body parts are in that same area. You might want to find a good qualified gynecologist.
