What should I do about ovarian cysts that cause horrible pain?

I went to the ER in Colorado and they wanted to operate on my apendix but then I said no and released myself. Then on Tuesday I went to the ER where I live and they said it was ovarian cysts.
I have 16 cysts and 6 have ruptured.
I know what that feels like. I have PCOS (poly-cystic-ovarian syndrome) You should ask your dr. for a prescription for yasmin (not yaz) birth control. It helps dissolve my cysts when they grow & it helps minimize them. They can get big. I also do accupuncture which relaxes me and helps alleviate the pain and discomfort. You should see an obgyn and get the right tests to find out if you have pcos. I take advil for my pain when it does get bad. But definitely get tested because if you have cysts forming then your dr. should be able to advise you on what to do and how to minimize the pain & the forming of the cysts.
I’m currently going through this same things…
I’ve found that heating pads (or the disposable heating pads that stick to your skin or clothing) work pretty well.
Also just taking an over the counter pain med, like advil or tylenol.
Hang in there…
You need to go to the hospital/doctors office now because it will hurt much much more if it bursts!
Get it removed.
Unfortunately there’s not much, other than over-the-counter painkillers and heat pads. The alternative, of course, if they’re very very bad is to get your ovaries taken out. I’m assuming you’re pretty young though and not willing to resort to that
Hang in there girl!
you should be tested for pcos. with ovarian cysts you need to have ultra sounds done to see what size they are or if they are fluid filled. cysts can be very serious. sometimes they break on their own but sometimes you have to have them removed. you really should go to the doctor. best of luck.
My doctor put me on birth control pills. Somehow they reduce the size of the cysts and ease cramping. You might want to ask about it.
