Can a 9 year old girl have an ovarian cyst?

I didn’t know it was possible until my daughter started having abdominal pain and other symptoms that suggest an ovarian cyst. I took her to a pediatrician , who said it "could be" a cyst, and recommends a pelvic ultrasound.

Can having an ovarian cyst cause pain in other locations in my abdomen?

I have a ovarian cyst on my left ovary.. The reason why they found this is because they gave me and ultrasound because I was having pain on the right in between my belly button and hip. Could the cyst be causing this pain or are they unrelated?
