Well you definitely need to see someone, having 5-7 periods a year and one of them being 27 days is not normal, not to mention the severe pain you're having. You could have some sort of hormonal issue like PCOS or something. Endometriosis can also cause severe chronic pain. In addition, you lost a baby, so something is going on with you. Maybe you should try to see an actual gynecologist, instead of just your regular doctor. They might be interested in looking into things more.

Ovarian cysts can cause a lot of pain, especially when if they rupture, and yes, a good sign of one is fluid around the ovary and in the pelvis.

I would try to see a gynecologist, and tell them what you said here about your pain, remind them you lost a baby, because it's not right and you shouldn't have to put up with that any more.

It could just be a cyst on your ovary. There is really now way to tell. Did they let you know how big it is? Maybe they wont have to remove the entire ovary again. I am worried about your enlarged uterus. That usually indicates a fibroid or maybe a tumor. They can usually remove a fibroid without having to do a hysterectomy unless it is really big.
There is really no way to tell if you will need one or not until you speak to the dr. But, if your dr. only gives hysterectomy as your only option then you should get a 2nd opinion.
Good Luck!

Wow. That's a lot to deal with at once. I recommend that you wait a while, unless your doctor wants that other cyst removed right away. Give yourself time to process this, for one. Also, my best friend was once told she had endometriosis because she had an enlarged uterus on an ultrasound. Turns out, it was just two days before her period started. Wait a week or two and have a repeat US to see if anything changes. If nothing changes, tell your Dr. that you really don't want a hysterectomy and want to know all your available options first. It's your right to know what your options are before you agree to anything.

Good luck, and I'm praying for you.

I think, if you go to your doc. the same thing might happen.
It all depends what kind of cyst you have & why your uterus is enlarged ( you might have fibroids). I would seek out a specialist & see, if your remaining ovary can be saved. I would also try to save your eggs, if you want children in the future. I would check in with your female relatives (mom, sister or aunt) & see if this is hereditary. Perhaps, you need to make some life style changes & find out why your body is producing the cysts.

Yes sometimes it just hits you out of no where too. When you have an episode like that just try and take it easy, if you become more active than usual you may find that your pain will increase too. I know it sounds cheesy but try taking Motrin 800 mg every 4 hours. And make sure you visit your gynocologist and have an ultrasound and ask for some pain medications. The best time to have the ultrasound to confirm that you actually have them is when you have them so make an appt with your OBGYN today!

Seriously, all I can suggest is to follow your doctor's orders. When all else fails, you can always walk for exercise. You may also want to place a call to the doctor, ask your exercise question and get him to be specific about the types of things you are allowed to do.

Just focus on staying the same weight for the next few months. Control your eating and stick to a certain number of calories per day. Look at this BMR calculator and eat that many calories every day, and dont' go below it: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

And DO NOT EXERCISE. I have had the same surgery you had, FOUR times. If you overdo it you'll get a hernia and then need more surgery and then that will be more months of no exercise. Or you'll give yourself internal scar tissue (adhesions) and they will be painful and restrict your activity.

Yes, I have ovarian cyst that rupture constantly. I just went to the dr this past monday and it has caused my periods to completely stop (I am also on BC (Mirena) but still had a period so it worried me). The BC does help situate the production of the cyst so they are less likely to form or they control the growth so they are not getting to be something enormous and causing other issues.
