I am 26yrs old, 5′7" tall and weigh 330 lbs! I’ve gained at least 100 lbs since I got married 5 years ago but I was always heavy. We are wanting to have children but haven’t been able to and doctors say it’s due to my weight. I have always had problems with my period and after I got married I was told I had a small ovarian cyst and was told it was normal. I was always given some kind of birth control to regulate my periods and to get rid of the cyst. Doctors suck and never seem to be able to fix me… I have been trying to lose weight since high school, but I just keep gaining it. I don’t think I have bad eating habits because I am scared of getting diabetes or high cholesterol because it runs in my family, so I am a bit more careful about what I eat. I had a physical done at the hospital to check everything and I am very healthy, the only problem is my weight and I don’t know what to do about it. Doctors just say eat healthy and exercise and I do but no results. I don’t even like food… I am rarely hungry and when I do eat, it’s not much. I am always feeling tired and without energy. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I’m just tired of being like this… I’m tired of the doctors that don’t tell me anything, I don’t know what to do, any ideas, or advice would help…
I don’t drink soda and don’t eat many sweets. I rarely eat pastas or processed foods because everything I buy must be kosher. I never eat out because I don’t like anything and eat very simple meals at home.

for years i have struggled with ovarian cysts and have tried other birth control options. I have tried the shot and gained a ton of weight and lost so much hair(and sex drive), i have done the ortho cyclen too, but stopped because of infections. I am looking to start again for actual birth control reasons. Has anyone had much success/failure rate? Any weight gain, any hair loss.

I recently experienced an ovarian cyst rupture, and my doctor put me on Loestrin24 birth control pills to try to smooth everything out. I am a little worried about the side effects.
I know every woman’s body is different and would react differently to the pills. But what was your experience with the birth control? Did you gain weight? How much? What other side effects did you experience.

Hi, I’m having some symptoms and I wonder if this could be cancer?
Constant need to urinate.
lower right abdominal pain.
Nausea, stomachache.
headache.
leg feels like giving out and are weak.
sudden weight gain.
ovarian pain and both Full of cysts.
birth control did not dissolve them.
I’m very nervous I’m 14 but don’t treat me like a little kid. My Doctor told me there is a 50% chance of cancer. And I’m ready to get educated and know more of what I should expect! Also I’m diabetic and have been getting allot of infections and very fatigued.

Our daughter, almost 24, has had some bleeding on and off for over a month. She takes Seasonique (3 month birth control) to control the symptoms of her endometriosis (diagnosed by laproscopy 4 years ago). She has taken it for almost 3 years and has been very pleased with the reduction in the amount of pain from the endometriosis.
Suddenly in January, pain on her left side increased greatly and the on and off bleeding began. She had an appointment with her OB/GYN who said it may have been due to the endometriosis. She managed to deal with the pain up until last week when, during the night, she has some take-your-breath-away pain on her left side which went on for a couple hours. 2 days later, she felt a "pop" on her left side and had a gush of heavy bleeding for 2 hours. The pain increased throughout the day until she eventually went to the emergency room as it was after hours at her OB/GYN and they couldn’t do anything to immediately see her. They weren’t able to do to an ultrasound at the ER (small town hospital) but scheduled one for 2 days later. The dr. who did an internal exam said the left side felt "full".
On Tuesday she had the ultrasound and everything in her ovaries and uterus looked normal. She saw her OB/GYN again today and she says it could have been a cyst that ruptured, or it could be a flare-up of endometriosis. The pain is sometimes sharp, and the rest of the time she says it feels like there is a curling iron burning inside, on the left side. Her dr. would like to give her a Lupron shot, if it is endometriosis, to throw her into menopause. This seems like an unwise thing to do if it was a ruptured cyst since Lupron won’t help with that and it’s not even clear if it really helps reduced endometriosis pain.
If you have had an ovarian cyst rupture, what were the symptoms before, during and after? How bad was the pain and how long did the pain last afterwards? If you have endometriosis, have you tried Lupron? Did it help?

I was reading a little about PCOS today and it kind of worried me, since I had some of the symptoms. I also had a sharp pain in my right arm and when I googled it a link about PCOS came up.
My symptom:
-Increased body hair.. I have dark hair so I’ve always had some, but lately it’s been a LOT.
-Ovarian cysts
-Lately my skin has been breaking out like crazy when normally my skin is pretty clear
-Weight gain
-I don’t use birth control and I’ve never been pregnant.. I know it’s silly to think I’m infertile without a proper test but it strikes me as quite odd that I’ve NEVER become pregnant while having unprotected sex
-My body has always been very hourglass. I always had a tiny waist. But the past 2 years I’ve developed more of a belly.
Should I consider seeing a doctor or gyno and discussing it with them?
Thanks in advanced
I’ve had my periods for about 7 years… They’re still not regular.

So, several months ago i went to the doctor and got diagnosed with an ovarian cyst. It hasn’t gone away and the amount of symptoms has increased alot. I went on birth control but it isn’t helping. i have the following symptoms:
pressure, fullness, or pain in the abdomen
dull ache in the lower back and thighs
problems passing urine completely
weight gain
painful menstrual periods and abnormal bleeding
nausea or vomiting
breast tenderness
and then it said
If you have these symptoms, get help right away:
pain with fever and vomiting
sudden, severe abdominal pain
faintness, dizziness, or weakness
rapid breathing
and i have everything but the rapid breathing. my problem is that my mom won’t let me go anywhere to get this checked out to see what i should do. so do you think maybe going to the school nurse would help me to get this checked out further? also, any advice on what i should do? (i’m in 9th grade)

I have an ovarian cyst on my right ovary every month according to the doctors it ruptures and regrows. Which cause great pain it makes me have flu symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea. But the cyst always ruptures the day of my period, and I usually can feel it growing a few weeks before my period which causes a lot of discomfort too. I have been to three gynecologists, emergency room (thought my appendix ruptured), and my family doctor they all say it can not be removed and its fine. The only suggestions they have for the pain is pain killers which i will NOT take on a monthly basis, and birth control which I cannot have because of a history of blood clots in my family. I have only had three external ultrasounds done on it. Basically for the last 7 years I have been having this problem and doctors only give me minimal information about it or what to do about it for that matter. I’m pretty scared I’m not going to be able to have children because of this cyst. And I know its more than just a cyst and I know there’s something else that can be done about it as opposed to me just being obnoxiously sick every month from this. Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong and what to do about it.

Almost a little under a year ago I went off Seasonale, I have gone from 155 to 135 since then. Over these few months I have increased my running and eatten fewer calories. My doctors think I have ovarian cyst and keep asking me to go on birth control pills again to help with the cyst. Should I break down and go on birth control again? I sure do like being thin, and I’m really scared to gain the weight back. Right now I’m really upset because I can barely walk so I def. cannot go running . . . so either way it’s a lose lose situation. Has anyone gone on birth controls with lower weight gain? Does Yasmin work well?? or the Nuvaring? Please let me know your experience with bc and weight . . .
Thanks
Let me clarify, I can barely walk because the cyst are causing me exteme amount of pain . . .
but being a size four is so much fun!
. . . also, I have no had a period since Nov (I’m not pregnant) and I’m anemic

It hurts so bad. I dont know of anything to help. It hurts when I walk, when I sit…all of the time…
I have been to the doctor before and she gave me birth control and said it would help. I still get them but not as often and when I do, like the one I have now, it is terrible. It feels like a metal rod is being shoved behind my hip bone. Ouch!

Can you still give birth if you have ovarian cysts? I recently found out that I have ovarian cysts, I have pain in my abdomen alot I just experienced 1 rupturing yesterday. I know birth control is a way to prevent cysts, but I would like to have a child.

Here’s the rundown to the point. My last period was Mar 10, 09. lasted the norm 4 to 5 days. It was due April 15, 09 and never showed. I took a pregnancy test a week after period was due, it was negative. Ive been having mild to sharp pains in my abdomen since 5 days before my expected period. It has been constant also accomodated with lower back pain, frequent urination, and pains in my breast. Ive been checked for endometriosis and ive had my thyroid checked, both test were fine. I have not gained weight nor been stressed. I usually have my cycle every 36 days. Ok I started bleeding 2 days ago which is 15 days past my expected period and it has stopped today. It was not a normal period. I only used a total of 4 pads within the two days. Im still having the abdominal pain and sharp breast pain. I also went to ER last night because of the bleeding and pain. They did a hpt and it was negative. The also did a pelvic exam which they say is normal for someone who was bleeding. Gave me some naproxin and sent me home and gave me numbers for gyno doctors. Its sat so unfortunatly there all closed. I guess its so frustrating because I have been regular for the past 2 yrs straight. Usually my bf and I use condoms or the pull out method but the one month we decide to use no form of birth control this happens. After my last period 3/10 we started having sex with him ejaculating inside me sometimes more than twice a week. And now this! Whats happening to my body?

To make a long story short I was experiencing extreme stomache problems recently and my docotr refered me to a Gastronologist. In turn he sent me to have a CT done on top of blood work and fecal x3. They were looking for parrasites or colitus. I got a call about my CT and they informed me that I have ovarian cysts. Which may have actually explained a lot of prior ailments I have experienced over the past couple of years ( I’m 21 now ) They at one point thought I had appendicitis and could not turn up anything when they sent me to the hospital so they sent me home. I have the same pain on the same side STILL I have my period ( or just bleeding ) 75-80 % of the month and pain in the back of my legs and stomache area. ( this has been going on for about 3 years now )I haven’t really gained much weight nor can I eat much, but my stomache is still growing larger and I constanly feel nauseas and tired. I’m worried about the "c" word a little bit even though it is a bit more rare. On both side of my family both sides have had a very bad track record for the "c" word. My dads mom had polups, my dad’s sister has uterine cancer AND ovarian cancer. My mom has polycystic ovaries and her sister had ovarian cancer and had to remove everythng giving her a severe hormonal imbalance ( which eventually led to her suicide ). My mom’s brother was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer as well. I am of Irish and Armenian Decent if that helps. My question is what do you think the gyno will do or suggest when I go to see them? I’ve been on birth control to no avail. And I am currently not sexually active because of the pain I have from intercourse. Please help me answer this to the best of your ability. Thanks.
I am not worrying myself to death over it being the "c" word. like I said in the text I know it is rare for someone my age to suffer from ovarian cancer . I simply stated that many of my family members 1st and secondly have had cancer in such regions which would make me more subseptible to it. And I know that genetics plays a big role in such matters. Would you have prefered if I spared that information? Which wold lead to a less valid set of info to base your response off of. I already know that I have multiple cysts. The CT scan showed that. I just wonder how long I have had them if I have felt like this for 3 years now and why they didn’t find it sooner considering that they check for my appendix with a scan and was having the same pain at the time in the same spot. If I’m worried about anything it would be them cutting me open to take it out, the risk of not being able to bear children later on, or the cysts rupturing. Thats all.
