Could it be polycystic ovarian syndrome?

Okay, so, i had gone to me doctor to get on birth control and talked to her about the fact, i haddent had my peirod in over five months, and last time i had it, it lasted two weeks. Ever since i gave birth about 5 years ago, my periods have been very irragular, sometimes i wouldnt have them for a month or three at a time, but this is the longest iv gone with our one. She did a pulvic exaim and told me, i did, in fact have several cyst on my ovarys, but they schedualed an ultrasound and drew blood just to make sure. But iv done alittle research on polycystic ovarian syndrome, and things just dont seem to add up, some of the Symptoms just dont match with out a known cause, such are facial hair, or alot of hair, i dont have any problems with that, never have, i have probably the normal amount of hair that any woman has….well not any, but i know i have normal hair growth, and my acne, i have it, like everyone else, but, its nothing that is OUT there, i have break out periods, but nothing a person my age (20) shouldnt have, its never been a major problem, my weight gain is due to the medications i take, i know that one for a fact :( the only time i ever had a major problem with dandruff was when i went swimming in a lake, and the water dryed my scalp out, after a few weeks, it was better, and iv not had problems since. I have had major infertility problems, iv been married almost two years and have yet to use a condom with him, i always thought it was him, but, im assuming its me now.Skin discolorations, im as pale as they come, i might be a tad pasty with my lack of sunlight, but nothing abnormal. High cholesterol levels, and blood pressure, both are excallent, doctors compliment me all the time on them, NEVER been a problem. And i saw one about depression, which, that cant be judge, i have three types of depression, i really couldnt tell if that was one of my symptoms. None the less, now maybe you can see my concern, can anyone tell me what i should be looking into?!

i just found i have PCOS..?

the nurse practitioner put me on metformin 500 because my insulin level was high, not low and I’ve had irregular periods since I was 11. but it didn’t regulate it and my insulin had lowered a great amount. The nurse couldn’t figure out what was wrong. But another nurse had given me some information on PCOS. so I did some research on it. and come to find out, I had every last symptom that was listed. So my mom asked the nurse to get me tested. they did an ultra sound to see if there were cyst or anything, both inside and out. they called a few days later and told me I had polycystic ovarian syndrome. ones busted or something ,I have cyst, and I have fluid on the lining. something like that. my mom was in a hurry and didn’t tell me where I could understand. Anyways, the nurse wants to put me on birth control, but isn’t that used for the same reason metformin is? and is one of the side effects for metformin weight gain? because my weight is always constantly up and down,. out of nowhere I’ll lose 10 pounds and then gain 13 back. But when I went to the doctor about one in a half weeks ago, came back and found out I gained 10 pounds in only a week and a couple of days. I’m pretty sure it was the medicine, I’ve never gained that much weight in a week or so. should I tell the nurse? or should I just start watching what I eat? so after I take the pill, what’s next? is that it? I’ll still be able to have children, right? it’ll just be harder for me to conceive? or is there more to it?
im by the way =P

Ovarian Cyst?

I am 12 weeks & 4 days pregnant. I am having pains in the lower left part of my abdomen, back pains & frequent urination. Could this be a cyst or just pains from being pregnant?

How can I lose weight NOW?

According to my doctor I’m not overweight but I’m not happy with my body. I’m and 20 year old female and I’m 5′4" and weigh about 150 lbs I’m a size 10 in juniors. I’d like to be a size 5 or smaller so I’d probably need to lose 30-40 lbs. In high school I was in marching band so I was always active and I was about a size 6-7 but when I was 17 I had a 15.5lb ovarian cyst and had major surgery. I wasn’t allowed to be physically active for 7 months and I gained a ton of weight mostly in my thighs but then I saw it start to slowly appear on my arms, and my stomach. I’ve tried so many workout videos but I don’t have the endurance for them. I’m changing my diet but I would really love some advice as to which exercises work. Keep in mind I’m starting over as a beginner and my ad muscles are so weak too many crunches or sit ups hurt, not burn. HURT.

Ovarian Cyst..What can I take for the pain?

I’m very sure that the pain I’m currently feeling is from ovarian cyst. I called my OB/GYN and they can’t get me in until the 16th of January. I was wondering if there was anything I can take for this annoying pain? I also would like some information on ovarian cyst. We want to work on trying to conceive in the next six months or so. Until then should I get on birth control if recommended to help with the cyst? I’m guessing being that I don’t have a regular cycle that its already going to be hard to get pregnant? So wouldn’t taking the birth control and then coming off make it harder? I know these are questions I should I ask the doctor and believe me I will but I just want a little info until then. Thanks so much ladies!

I just want to see what you all think these symptoms could be, so far the only thing I have found is ovarian cyst, but I want to know if there is anything more that have the same symptoms. Thanks.

My mother has been suffering this pain for almost two years, the doctors keep sending her for exams and more exams, but we never get a response, she is tired of all this and really can’t take it anymore. The doctors keep telling her that there’s nothing, but if there was nothing, why is she suffering so much. I would like to gather up some ideas that maybe the doctor could look for, rather than her to go and they figure it out. Anyways, thanks, any ideas is appreciated.

Ovarian Cyst…?

My friend is 28, she has had ovarian cysts since her early 20’s.
She is married with no children… yet. She has multiple, persistent cysts on both her ovaries. They never shrink or go away even with pills. She has frequent, like every 2wks, periods and severe cramping. Surgery is not an option. She does want children oneday.
What the best options for treating these cyst and retain her fertility? Any natural cures available. Please any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Birth control not an option anymore, tried and didn’t work
Her doctor isn’t very helpful or supportive, only prescribes meds for pain.

Ovarian cyst, uti? female, 32…pain ?

pain, very mild, started saturday last week. it would come and go during the day. it was on my lower left abdomen/pelvis. then wednesday, had to pee every 30 mins with constant pain there on my lower left and would be relieved after peeing. that lasted 1/2 the day. then friday, my lower left back ached a bit when i had to pee….relieved after peeing. only happened like 3 times. now today my right is starting to hurt a little. my left has been bothering me daily every few hrs. not sure if i have a UTI, cyst or what, but i am going to doc tomorrow….any ideas? my period was 5 days early about 2 weeks ago, so doubt i am pregnant. urinating doesnt hurt or burn. also before last saturday was drinking soda, barely any water. since then, been drinking water and cranbury juice.

Hi,
I was detected with ectopic pregnancy , as the doctors couldnt find fetus they had done an emergency surgical procedure and removed hemorrhagic cyst which was causing acute pelvic pain (left ovary)
after 2 DAYs and another ultrasound later, they still couldn’t find a fetus and advised me that I take a shot of methotrexate to dissolve pregnancy.
It’s been 3 weeks now, and I have suffered from chest pains, vomitting etc etc..but the thing that is bothering me the most is that I still have acute pelvin pain and the pain is shooting through my left leg. The pain increases and it is worst at night. (even painkillers dont help. :( )

I have repeatedly asked my doctor about this and they seem to be convinced that it could be due to bruising during surgery or blood clot

I have couple of questions, and I will appreciate if you have any knowledge or prior experience and can guide me

1. is this kind of pain normal? if yes, will it go away after few weeks/,months?
2. are there any time of exercise that i should do to get rid of these pains
3. if it is indeed due to blood clotting is there anyway it can be cured

4. should i check with my doctor again, and are there any other type of test i should request them to do?

Last easter i had a cyst in my stomach, it was 6 inches by 5 inches by 3 inches. And i’m only 13. So apparently i’ve had this syndrome since i was like 6? And it makes you gain weight, all throughout the years i thought it was my fault i was a little overweight. But since i found out i had this it explains it. But anyway, with me being somewhat overweight has made me really self conscious. what can i do to be more confident?

is there deep pain down in the belly (in the right and left sides) of a pregnant woman who has ovarian cyst?

I had my first postpartum period at 10 months, so heavy I had to go to the ER on doctor’s orders. Negative pregnancy test, no fibroids/cysts on ultrasound. That period lasted 8 days. On CD14, I started having a pinching feeling in my left ovary (not unbearable, but uncomfortable). It lasted a couple of days and was followed by brown spotting (when wiping only) on CD15.

I’m trying to figure out if it’s probably a cyst that developed since CD6, when I had an ultrasound, or if I am ovulating. I was irregular before my pregnancy, so I’m just trying to figure out what is going on with my body and if I should get another ultrasound or just go back on the pill as long as we didn’t accidentally get pregnant (had an uh-oh around that time).
