I am 19 years old and unfortunately i am starting to have some problems: endometriosis and ovarian cysts. so i am going to the doctors on wednesday and want to get started on birth control to help out with my situation.
So i was wondering if some lovely ladies could help me by saying what birth control they take and the pros and cons: clear skin, breast growth, weight gain, mood swings.
THANKS!

I was diagnosed with a 4.2 cm wide ovarian cyst about 3 weeks ago. They didn’t give me any pain relievers until a couple days later, which was Tylenol with Codeine to also help me sleep a little.
2 weeks later, it’s still causing major pain. I’ve missed 9 days of school because of it. We went back to the doctor and he said he would refer me to an OBGYN.
I’m only 14, and this is my first cyst. My mom and grandmother have had a series of cysts and tumors. My mom has endometriosis too. We basically have a lot of heredity with this.
What are the chances that this cyst will have to be removed surgically, and what are the chances that my OBGYN will do a pelvic exam tomorrow?
Plus, I’m a virgin, so will that, along with the pain of the cyst, make this experience [pelvic exam] painful and severely uncomfortable?
At first, they thought it was appendicitis, but my appendix is fine, so they outruled that with a CT Scan with injection and barium. That’s how they found the cyst.

Our daughter, almost 24, has had some bleeding on and off for over a month. She takes Seasonique (3 month birth control) to control the symptoms of her endometriosis (diagnosed by laproscopy 4 years ago). She has taken it for almost 3 years and has been very pleased with the reduction in the amount of pain from the endometriosis.
Suddenly in January, pain on her left side increased greatly and the on and off bleeding began. She had an appointment with her OB/GYN who said it may have been due to the endometriosis. She managed to deal with the pain up until last week when, during the night, she has some take-your-breath-away pain on her left side which went on for a couple hours. 2 days later, she felt a "pop" on her left side and had a gush of heavy bleeding for 2 hours. The pain increased throughout the day until she eventually went to the emergency room as it was after hours at her OB/GYN and they couldn’t do anything to immediately see her. They weren’t able to do to an ultrasound at the ER (small town hospital) but scheduled one for 2 days later. The dr. who did an internal exam said the left side felt "full".
On Tuesday she had the ultrasound and everything in her ovaries and uterus looked normal. She saw her OB/GYN again today and she says it could have been a cyst that ruptured, or it could be a flare-up of endometriosis. The pain is sometimes sharp, and the rest of the time she says it feels like there is a curling iron burning inside, on the left side. Her dr. would like to give her a Lupron shot, if it is endometriosis, to throw her into menopause. This seems like an unwise thing to do if it was a ruptured cyst since Lupron won’t help with that and it’s not even clear if it really helps reduced endometriosis pain.
If you have had an ovarian cyst rupture, what were the symptoms before, during and after? How bad was the pain and how long did the pain last afterwards? If you have endometriosis, have you tried Lupron? Did it help?

Here’s the rundown to the point. My last period was Mar 10, 09. lasted the norm 4 to 5 days. It was due April 15, 09 and never showed. I took a pregnancy test a week after period was due, it was negative. Ive been having mild to sharp pains in my abdomen since 5 days before my expected period. It has been constant also accomodated with lower back pain, frequent urination, and pains in my breast. Ive been checked for endometriosis and ive had my thyroid checked, both test were fine. I have not gained weight nor been stressed. I usually have my cycle every 36 days. Ok I started bleeding 2 days ago which is 15 days past my expected period and it has stopped today. It was not a normal period. I only used a total of 4 pads within the two days. Im still having the abdominal pain and sharp breast pain. I also went to ER last night because of the bleeding and pain. They did a hpt and it was negative. The also did a pelvic exam which they say is normal for someone who was bleeding. Gave me some naproxin and sent me home and gave me numbers for gyno doctors. Its sat so unfortunatly there all closed. I guess its so frustrating because I have been regular for the past 2 yrs straight. Usually my bf and I use condoms or the pull out method but the one month we decide to use no form of birth control this happens. After my last period 3/10 we started having sex with him ejaculating inside me sometimes more than twice a week. And now this! Whats happening to my body?

I run every day, the maxium I run will be 45 minutes. For the past two months, everytime I run I experience intense pain in my lower right side, and after I am done with my run, i notice a good amount of blood in my urine. The blood only appears once after the run, but the pain stays for a few hours after.Nothing has changed in my diet, or amount of time I run. I am wondering if anyone can suggest what is casing this.
I also have a severe case of endometriosis and reoccuring ovarian cysts, all which have been on my right ovary.

So, I’ve given up the idea of being pregnant although I’ve really felt strange lately. AF visited this morning, so I’ve resigned myself to thinking there’s another reason. I’ve been excessively bloated for 4-6 weeks but my diet and exercise haven’t changed in the least. I have had numerous pregnancy symptoms, but all negative tests. I started cramping last night pretty bad and woke up to AF. Since I started on bc 4 years ago, I’ve not had cramps this bad with a cycle. Any opinions? I’ve thought possibly endometriosis or ovarian cysts, but a transvaginal ultrasound approximately 6 weeks ago showed nothing unusual.

I was wondering whether one can still ovulate and have ovarian cysts form on your ovaries when using birth control pills? I have heard that certain low dose birth control pills can make you ovulate and can still make cysts form.
I’m on the pill to prevent cysts and endometriosis but have had this pain in my right ovary area for about a week and I’m going to see my doctor on thursday but was just wondering whether it could be a cyst or endometriosis that is causing my pain?
Has anyone else experienced this?

For the past five years, I’ve been experiencing pelvic pain similar to menstrual cramps (but worse) beginning the day after I ovulate and extending for the next two weeks until I begin my period (at which time regular menstrual cramps are actually a relief). The pain will come (very quickly) and go and may happen several times a day for two weeks or just a couple days within that time. It never happens before I ovulate or after I start my period.
It’s been getting worse and worse and I have to take Ibuprofen now to cope with it. I’m trying to figure out what it is. I thought for a long time that it was endometriosis, but I’m beginning to think that it could be ovarian cysts. A couple of months ago, the pain was almost nonexistent! I had just recently stopped eating all animal products and thought that had done the trick, but next month it was back and I was extremely discouraged.
I don’t want to go to the doctor for treatment because they will either want to do surgery, tell me to get on birth control, or tell me to keep taking painkillers. The pain disrupts my life (like waking me up in the middle of the night when I have to be up early the next day), but so does taking medicine because then I’m groggy and out of it and can’t function correctly.
Lately I’ve begun to think that perhaps the condition is being exacerbated by chocolate (and all caffeine products, but I don’t drink coffee). I haven’t eaten chocolate for the past few days and the cramps have been mild enough that I haven’t had to take any Ibuprofen. My mom has fibrocystic breast disease and can’t eat chocolate because the caffeine and tannins in it will inflame the cysts and cause her to be in extreme pain for days. I was wondering if it could do the same for ovarian cysts?
The information out there seems to just talk about sever pain during menstruation or mittelschmerz ovulation pain but nothing for pain that happens in the two intervening weeks. Has anyone else experience what I’ve described? Does anyone know anything about the link between ovarian cysts and chocolate or caffeine? Do my symptoms sound like endometriosis or ovarian cysts or something else? I would really like to find a natural treatment for this and I’m almost positive that it has something to do with diet. I love love love chocolate but I would give it up if it meant getting my life back two weeks out of five.

I found out that I had a dermoid cyst back in June. My doctor tried to get it out through a laparoscopy surgery. But instead she found out that I only have my left ovary which is 5cm because of that cyst. She also saw that I have endometriosis. She told me my case is very complicated and she sent me to see another specialist. Can I can get pregnant with one ovary that has a dermoid cyst in it and endometriosis?
I want to have kids. Please help me!
