Ladies! Ovarian cyst pain:(?!?!?

I have at least one ovarian cyst. It’s on my right ovary and it used to be over 5 cms but I feel like it’s only gotten bigger.. But I just went in for another ultrasound a few days ago and I think I saw another cyst on my left ovary but they couldn’t tell me because I have to wait until my appt on friday. But this past week I’ve been have pain on each side. Like on my ovaries.. And I usually have pain on my right one that is like a cramping pain.. But now it’s like it’s being pushed on pain.. Like I have to go to the bathroom a lot because it hurts on my right lower abdomen if my bladder gets at all full.. Is this because my cyst is way bigger now?
Also. It doesn’t just hurt if my bladder is full. It hurts when I walk. Like I can feel something weird being pushed on..

I am had some problems over the past year. But within the past few weeks of so I have developed a distended/bloated stomach. Seems as though I had no or minimal weight gain but difficulty getting my pants on. It starts right at the bottom of my ribcage and doesn’t stop until it it reaches my private area. It almost looks as though I am pregnant, but I know I am not. Over the past year my problmes have been with urination and pain. I sometimes get urges to go when I bend backwards. If I stretch the muscle at the bottom of me ribcage (near the sternum) I really have to go! Also, I have been getting cramps during ovulation. It really hurts inside on the left side when I urinate, like near my ovaries. But that is only for a few days to a week or of the whole month. But I do have the urge to urinate throughout. When I push semi-hard on my lower left side I feel a lump. I have had ovarian cysts before and I didn’t have symptoms like this. I have read that my symptoms could be ovarian cancer.
Oh, I forgot to mention that it is not constipation. I have regular bowel movements.
And no gas either.
I don’t eat much food containing milk. My booyfriend is lactose intolerant so we use alot of soy mik products. But I might have to consider that. I know it’s not salt causing this either. I have tried to eliminat a lot of salt out of my diets which wasn’t much, with no results.
I forgot to mention that I full very fast when I eat. I can’t even get halfway thru a meal before I start feeling full. Sometimes I have to force myself to eat it because I know I need to eat and need the nutrition.
I don’t dcrink any alcohol. And I also don’t drink carborated beverages. I drink tea and water only.

the nurse practitioner put me on metformin 500 because my insulin level was high, not low and I’ve had irregular periods since I was 11. but it didn’t regulate it and my insulin had lowered a great amount. The nurse couldn’t figure out what was wrong. But another nurse had given me some information on PCOS. so I did some research on it. and come to find out, I had every last symptom that was listed. So my mom asked the nurse to get me tested. they did an ultra sound to see if there were cyst or anything, both inside and out. they called a few days later and told me I had polycystic ovarian syndrome. ones busted/ruptured or something ,I have cyst, and I have fluid all around on the lining. something like that. my mom was in a hurry and didn’t tell me where I could understand. Anyways, the nurse wants to put me on birth control, but isn’t that used for the same reason metformin is? and is one of the side effects for metformin weight gain? because my weight is always constantly up and down,. out of nowhere I’ll lose 10 pounds and then gain 13 back. But when I went to the doctor about one in a half weeks ago, came back and found out I gained 10 pounds in only a week and a couple of days. I’m pretty sure it was the medicine, I’ve never gained that much weight in a week or so. should I tell the nurse? or should I just start watching what I eat? so after I take the pill, what’s next? is that it? I’ll still be able to have children, right? it’ll just be harder for me to conceive? or is there more to it? are they just going to leave my ruptured ovary?

I have had pain, sometimes intense, sometimes mild achy pain, since 2/19/09. I went to the Immediate Care Center on Saturday and they thought it could be my appendix since it was on my right side. They did a CT scan and said I had an Ovarian Cyst (4.3cm in diameter) & it hurts like hell. I went to my OB/GYN on Monday and they said it would go away on its own & prescribed pain meds. They told me if I was still hurting in a few days to come back. I went back 5 days later & they again told me it would have to rupture on its own & prescribed me more pain meds. They told me to take 2 (7.5) Lortabs at a time & to keep them in my system until it ruptures. How long can this take? I really don’t want to keep taking this much pain medicine because it makes me nausous. I really don’t know what else to do & I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?!?! Any suggestions would help.

Has anyone had Ovarian Cysts or PCOS?

I have been nauseas/vomiting daily for four months. Over the past year I have gained 50 pounds, when I eat healthy and exercise almost daily. I was never thin, but was in shape and now I can’t lose or even maintain my weight, as well as I get lil’ bumps on my arms and feet, sometimes neck (almost like a hive), facial hair, and pelvic pain. Originally I thought it was stress, but after a whiel I felt I needed to go to the dr. I went to my regular Dr. he did a blood test where it came back that i had a 120 testosterone level. My dr. told me I may have PCOS or possibly ovarian cancer. I then went to the gyno and he did an exam and said that he doens’t think it is PCOS because my menstral cycle is ok. He did say he thinks he feels cyst/s. I am going in a few days for a ultra soudn and vaginal probe, but I was wondering in the meantime if anyone has had any similar symptoms, my biggest concern is the excessive weight gain and vomiting.

rapid unexpliained weight gain-distended abdomen?

I’m turning 20 in a few days, and since I was 16 i’ve weighed right around 103. In the last 4 months ive gained 20 + pounds with no change in lifestyle. None of the weight has gone anywhere but my abdomen. It doesnt feel like fat deposits, my abdomen, all the way down to my pubic area is hard and distended, ive aquired about 5 inches. Ive taken numerous home pregnancy tests, so i know that isnt the case, but i’m worried its something serious, i would think that if it was just pure weight gain, it would show up other places as well as my abdomen? I’m not constipated or lactose intolerant, i do how ever have a history of ovarian cysts. Someone please offer some insight!

For the past five years, I’ve been experiencing pelvic pain similar to menstrual cramps (but worse) beginning the day after I ovulate and extending for the next two weeks until I begin my period (at which time regular menstrual cramps are actually a relief). The pain will come (very quickly) and go and may happen several times a day for two weeks or just a couple days within that time. It never happens before I ovulate or after I start my period.

It’s been getting worse and worse and I have to take Ibuprofen now to cope with it. I’m trying to figure out what it is. I thought for a long time that it was endometriosis, but I’m beginning to think that it could be ovarian cysts. A couple of months ago, the pain was almost nonexistent! I had just recently stopped eating all animal products and thought that had done the trick, but next month it was back and I was extremely discouraged.

I don’t want to go to the doctor for treatment because they will either want to do surgery, tell me to get on birth control, or tell me to keep taking painkillers. The pain disrupts my life (like waking me up in the middle of the night when I have to be up early the next day), but so does taking medicine because then I’m groggy and out of it and can’t function correctly.

Lately I’ve begun to think that perhaps the condition is being exacerbated by chocolate (and all caffeine products, but I don’t drink coffee). I haven’t eaten chocolate for the past few days and the cramps have been mild enough that I haven’t had to take any Ibuprofen. My mom has fibrocystic breast disease and can’t eat chocolate because the caffeine and tannins in it will inflame the cysts and cause her to be in extreme pain for days. I was wondering if it could do the same for ovarian cysts?

The information out there seems to just talk about sever pain during menstruation or mittelschmerz ovulation pain but nothing for pain that happens in the two intervening weeks. Has anyone else experience what I’ve described? Does anyone know anything about the link between ovarian cysts and chocolate or caffeine? Do my symptoms sound like endometriosis or ovarian cysts or something else? I would really like to find a natural treatment for this and I’m almost positive that it has something to do with diet. I love love love chocolate but I would give it up if it meant getting my life back two weeks out of five.

This might be a little long to explain it all, sorry ahead of time.

Recently I decided to go to a Doctor’s Weight Loss Clinic. I had gained over 60 pounds in one year for no reason, and it was impossible to lose the weight and keep it off despite healthy diet and daily exercise routine. The weight doctor seemed to think I had Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and said I needed to be tested by a gyno. Thankfully the diet is working. I lost 15 pounds in one month. Unfortunately these results have come with odd problems that can’t seem to be explained.

Not even a week after starting the diet I began a very painful and random period even though I’m on the pill. A few days later after I started my period, I ended up having a cyst that ruptured. Finally I healed and my period ended from that, but exactly a week later I started another period. That period has ended, but seems to have caused more issues. I don’t know if I have another cyst or not, but I’m back to having constant abdominal pain. All through this my hormones have gone nuts. It has caused me to get severe acne, and making things things extremely sensitive to say the least.

I went to the gyno and she basically blew me off. She said it had nothing to do with the diet, the cyst came from me skipping a pill or taking it at the wrong time (I’ve been on birth control for 12 years now, I don’t ever forget to take the pill, and I take it at the same time every night), and that things will just be odd for a month. She also refused to test me for PCOS stating that if I had it, she would just put me on birth control and since I’m already on it, it doesn’t matter. Despite me being in pain, and having some of the same symptoms all over again, she didn’t check to see if I even had another cyst. Furthermore she prescribed another birth control pill similar to what I was on that has low estrogen and progestin, which means it won’t be effective in shrinking or preventing more cysts.

I then talked to the weight doctor, and he had never heard of such problems. I am currently on a low glycemic index impact diet, which is suppose to help PCOS if I have it. Earlier this year I had started a similar diet and started a random period then too, but didn’t stay on the diet. This leads me to believe it’s the diet, and not any of the medications he has put me on. Also, none of the meds have been known to cause these side effects. I have never had a cyst before that I knew about, and certainly didn’t cause these kind of problems. He seemed to be clueless about if PCOS could have caused this. I have another gyno appointment Monday, but I’m looking to see if anyone has experienced similar problems. Has anyone heard of a diet low in sugar throwing off hormones that bad and that fast? I’m desperate, and am in so much pain all the time.

Here is what the weight doctor prescribed:
-low impact glycemic index diet.
-Phentermine 37.5mg
-Once a week fat burning shots that include B 12, B complex, and Lipovite
