I have had this pain in my left side for about 5 days. I had a cyst on my left ovary about 4 months ago and it ruptured. So I am not sure if this is another cyst, I am having the same symptoms like pain with sex, discharge and having to pee alot but no real pain yet. I have no health insurance so I just dont want to waste the $ for nothing b/c the only thing the doctors can do is wait until it ruptures…right???

Period-like vaginal bleeding for 4 weeks

Kinda graphic:

Background: I’m 27 year-old female. I have 1 child and had a miscarriage in November 2005. I have gained a significant amount of weight over the past 2 years (about 50 lbs). I believe that I may have PCOS, because I have had abnormal or no periods over the past 2 years in addition to acne, some facial hair growth and symptoms of metabolic syndrome (boderline cholesterol, glucose, and carrying most of my weight around my middle.)

My question is this; I started my period on July 2, 2008. Nothing crazy, not real heavy, no cramping or anything. It lasted for about 5 days (like usual for me). I stopped for about 2 days and then started bleeding again. Not just spotting, I mean… full-blown period. This bleeding has been going on for about 4 weeks, and I am STILL bleeding! I thought it was worse in the AM, so I was thinking fibroids, but now I’ve realized that it is heavy all day long. It’s also more of a brighter red than I am used to for menstrual bleeding. I know that PCOS affects your hormones and maybe something is going on inside of me that is telling my body to bleed. I am starting to have cramps and feeling very tired. I have been taking Iron supplements and Ibuprofen to ease the cramping. And I have especially been having pain in my lower left side. I have had 1 ovarian cyst before, but this hurts waaaay worse.

Whats going on? Any ideas? I am sick of this. I do not have health insurance so I don’t want to go run up a bill at the hospital, but I am getting tired of this. I feel like the punchline of that joke, :why shouldn’t you ever trust a women? Because you don’t trust anything that can bleed for five days straight and not die!

By the way I’m a RN, so please don’t yell at me. Please let me know if anyone else has had anything like this.

do i have Leukemia?

I’ve had a history of high white blood cells over the last 3 yrs. (im 21 years old) First, my doctor kept giving me medicines for infections, bacteria. My white blood cell level is still ranging between 11-14.7. I’ve recently been diagnosed with ovarian cysts as well.Lately i’ve been feeling terrible. I have fatigue (really bad!!) I’m always tiired, my body feels verrryyy weak. I get dizzy a lot too. I’m bumping into things and i feel like im going to pass out. I also have a high fever. I DO bruise easily. and the bruises take a while to go away. Basically im having symptoms of Leukemia, the only difference is i have not lost weight. i still weigh my chubby self. (I have gained about 60 lbs in the last 2 years.)
At first i thought these symptoms were because of the cysts, but now i am getting worried because i feel like im going to pass out any second and just die. Please help me because im getting very worried. Also my health insurance just expired and i’m broke. Any sugestions 4 dat?
I want to add that i am not a hypochondriac, thank you very much!! i wouldnt have posted this unless i was seriously worried. i dont want to scare my family, thats why i wanna know more details before i decide to go furthur into trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with me!! -also my doctor had said that she was worried about bone marrow disease.. what would be the symptoms of that?

What is going on with my body?

There are some really weird things going on that are worrying me. They may or may not be related. I have been to the doctor once but not since due to an insurance fiasco.

First, no matter what I eat, I feel weird after. I wouldn’t say I feel nauseous and I don’t vomit, I have his feeling like I’m hungry again, I have what seems like heart burn, I get bad gas (out of both ends) and have searing pain from the middle of my abdomen up to my chest randomly. It is mainly when I eat grain products and dairy, but I just had a salad and I feel that way too. I have had this once before, two years ago, but this is worse. I have never been very regular and I am more constipated now.

Second, I have strange pain under my ribs and in my upper back, especially when I breathe out. This isn’t constant but at least once a day I feel this. It is annoying. I also have some pain at the top of my breasts, pretty much on my chest. This is what I went to the doctor for initially and they pretty much said they didn’t know what was wrong and that it was probably stress. I am busy and under a lot of stress as a senior in college, but even when I’m relaxed I feel this.

Third, I have lower back, lower abdominal and pelvic pain sometimes. This has occurred in the past and never bothered me but I find myself concerned. Cramps are normal before and during my period but not after, like now. I am sexually active but I am very careful (we use condoms, the pill and he won’t ejaculate inside the condom while he’s in me) and have one partner, so there is no way I could be pregnant or have an STI. I have been tested since my last partner and I was clean. I had a normal period this month also.

Fourth, and this has been going on for a very long time, I am extremely fatigued all the time. I can get an hour of sleep, 8 hours of sleep or a whole day of sleep and still feel the same. Putting one foot in front of the other is a chore, forget working out. I’ve gained weight because of this. I am taking multivitamins to see if that helps and it’s not helping so far.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? These are all real symptoms. My mom says I’m a hypochondriac but I am just trying to take care of myself and want some peace of mind until I can get back to the doctor. My friend has something similar going on and they have no idea what’s wrong. Her main issue is the feeling sick after eating anything. I’ve thought of IBS, gallbladder issues, Crones disease, endometriosis, an ovarian cyst, some sort of infection, pregnancy (which I definitely am not after the normal period), a thyroid problem, a gluten allergy, etc. Not sure if any of those things are possibilities, I will probably have blood drawn at the appointment. Has anyone else felt this way? Any info. would be great.
Just to clear something up, I got the insurance mess taken care of today. I have coverage and have made an appointment for next week. I just want to hear some opinions. :)

Please can anyone give me some advice? I have been bleeding for over 2 months STRAIGHT. I bleed every single day. Sometimes it’s really heavy and sometimes it does lighten a little, but it’s pretty much steady. It has only almost stopped for 1 day this whole time. By late that night I was already bleeding again.
I am 22 years old and I do have Endometriosis and a history of ruptured ovarian cysts. I’ve had 3 surgeries to try and remove it, but it always comes back. I have been worse since my last surgery (which was back in Jan. of this year). The doc did 2 more things than the other surgeries.. He lasered some sort of nerve (to supposedly help the cramps–IT HASN’T!) and he also opened up both of my fallopian tubes (They were 100% blocked).
I am used to having weird periods and a lot of really bad cramps, but this is getting ridiculous!! There were a couple of instances where I even bled through tampons (while awake and sleeping). Needless to say, I have thrown away more clothes and sheets than I thought I ever would. This problem is scaring the hell out of me!!!

Yes, I did try to go to my GYN, but because my insurance didn’t cover 1/2 of a bill from forever ago.. They refused to see me. Which in my opinion, is insane and wrong, but that’s beside the point… (I am currently looking for a new doctor.) I am scared and tired all the time. I have also noticed that I am gaining some weight..
Does anyone (hopefully a medical professional) have any idea what could be causing this and what I can do to help get through till I can find a new doctor?? Any serious input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

P.S. I am not usually the kind of person that seeks medical advice online, but I am kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place right now…

How do you know if you have an Ovarian Cyst?

I have no insurance, so i cant afford to go to the doctor right now to find out. But here are a few symptoms i am having:
Weight gain
No period for 3 months
Blurred vision at times

I have been to the free clinic in my home town, but they cant determine that sort of advance care. But they did a pregnacy test and the results were negative. so i know that that’s not what it is.

Im really not sure what to do. What are the symptoms of the cyst? any information is greatly appreciated.

Amenhorrea and ovulation? Could I be pregnant?

I became anorexic back in 2002 and haven’t had a period since then. However, I have made the effort to gain some weight since then. Last Sunday my panties had blood all over them. I started jogging 45 min-to an hour a day but my pants feel snug. I thought it was just muscle. I get dizzy spells, I’m emotional, and my stomach is always growling. I also found out I have ovarian cysts(could that be the problem?). I have no insurance so I went to the planned parenthood and the preg. test, came back negative but they want me to take another test in 2 weeks. I thought I couldn’t get pregnant but the nurse said I could still ovulate. I’m so scared! My boyfriend and I want children, but now is just not the right time. I’m a cocaine addict and have only been off drugs for about 2 weeks(what damaged could I have done to my baby?). Could it be pregnancy? I’m so, so scared.

i know no one here is probably a doctor im just wanting to know which of these symptoms are related to what
i dont have a family doctor which is why im going to the Er I dont have insurance but i have had ovarian cysts before but never felt like i do now
also ive waited this long to make sure it wasnt my period

I do not have health insurance yet, I’m waiting to hear back from a few places before I choose,so I can’t go to the doctor yet. Ovarian cyst and cancer runs in my family and was wondering if anybody knows what this could be. My husband and I are ttc month 5 now and I normally have a 30 day cycle. A few months ago it switched to a 33 day cycle. Well this month I was 4 days late and thought I was pregnant well then af came and that was that. Well, now a week after I got off my period I can tell I’m ovulating by the cm, I can always tell when I’m ovulating by the cm. I have also been very bloated, over the weekend, I haven’t eaten more than normal, my work pants have gotten snug and I have been gaining weight. I have had migraines or at least a headache every day, I have a cold now and was feeling like I was going to throw up. I go from hot to cold all the time, and every time I brush my teeth or use any form of mouth wash it makes me gag to the point where I’m dry heaving. I have been using the bathroom a little bit more and sometimes it’s just very little that comes out. Does anybody know what this could be at all. I’m worried about myself and until I finalize my insurance I can’t go to the doctor and would like some piece of mind.
I also am not on birth control and have not been on bc in over 3 years. I also have taken preg. test and they came out neg.

Ovarian cyst pain……?

I have had an ovarian cyst for a few months now. It is a corpus luteal cyst. I am having alot of sharp pains on that side and fullness. also there is a little sweling. I no longer have insurance so I can’t just go to the doctor anyomre. Should I be worried about it or is something normal?

I was in the hospital about 3 months ago for Toxic Shock Syndrome and they did a ultrasound and told me that I also had an ovarian cyst on my left ovary… well I just started my period today and I have this pain going down my left leg that hurts like no other!!!!!! Its seriously about ready to make me throw up it hurts so bad… do you think the cyst is causing it? My medical insurance doesn’t start until January so going to the doctor is sort of on the backburner if I can absolutely avoid it. Help! Thanks!
Sorry the question was supposed to say *Left* leg.

My appendix ruptured almost a year ago and the year before that I had an intestinal blockage (the doctor thinks they are un-related!). Though I’m told everything is fine I am still quite swollen and I’ve gained about 30 pounds. Very little "fat to pinch" on abdomen - just a hard, swollen feeling. Colonoscopy 1 month post-op was normal. I recently started experiencing tenderness on the left side. My doctor suspected diverticulitis but blood tests revealed normal white count (no infection), elevated BUN ratio, and slight anemia. I’m awaiting a CT scan (new insurance pending) to rule out ovarian cysts. Bottom line is that my body is just not the same as I’ve lost my almost-flat tummy and what was a sculptured waistline. And of course - I’m concerned with the recent discomfort. I recently read about "twisted colon". I’m grasping for any possible explanation… anyone experience similar scenario?

Stomach pain, anyone have an idea?

Ok, first of all I have seen doctors about this, and they are baffled, so I decided to ask and see if anyone had anything similar. This is kinda long too.

It started about a year ago, I was getting really sharp pains in my stomach, its always in the same spot, about 4 inches to the right of my belly button. Sometimes the pain is so bad my back hurts in a spot directly opposite the pain in my stomach.

I went to the ER last July and had many tests run, they checked for Ovarian Cysts, Gallbladder stones, Hernia, Appendix and even ulcers. Everything came back negative and I was discharged with undiagnosed abdominal pain. I saw a doctor and was told it was most likely an ulcer that didn’t show up on the CT scan(peptic is what she said). So I took various medications over the next many months and had a very bland diet.

The pain would still come and go though it wasn’t to unbearable. After a year of taking the exprensive medication and not seeing a change I talked to my doctor and we decided to quit them. I was fine for 2 months. In the last two weeks the pain has come back, and its bad. Instead of only hurting when I exerted myself its every single day now. Without fail, in the early to late evening every day it starts to hurt, it gets progresivly worse until I go to bed, where lying down helps a bit but not much. The pain is gone by morning only to come back later that day. Sometimes it hurts after I eat, sometimes not. There seems to be little to no pattern and its driving me mad. A recent idea from the doc is an excess of stomach acid, though i would think if this was the case the pain would be more generalized rather that in one spot every time.

I am just confused, lost and in pain and I want it to stop. I don’t know what else it could be or what else to do. My husband is scared and I am going to see if my insurance will cover a gastroenteroligist. But I am seeing my regular doc later this week, and was hoping for some new ideas as to what this is.

Oh and the only thing I can think of that could have possibly triggered this renewed bout of pain is that the weather has gotten much cooler in the last 2 weeks. No lifestyle changes or anything else. Oh and hot showers seems to make the pain flare up.

Thanks if you actually read all this and can maybe shed a little light on all this.

Green stool..please help?

Ok so for the last 5 days i have had horrible diarreah it was brown at first, and now it is green…this is a little gross but for the past 2 days i have had the diarreah still but its green now, i havent had much change in my diet howevefr i have been having some problems with ovarian cyst that keep rupturing, and now i have been diagnosed with a hemmorhagic cyst…is this a coincidednce or is this a problem? my insurance doesnt start until the 1st of next month so if this sounds ok ill wait but if it sounds like an emergency then should i go to the ER???

I had non-hodgkins lymphoma in my colon and it spread to my liver and it was the agressive kind and now I’m in remission for three yrs. I also have an ovarian cyst which is the size of a golf ball or more from my x-ray about a year ago and I can feel it. My oncologist sent me to the obgyn but I’ve lost my insurance, so for almost a year now, I haven’t been seen. I’m scared but with no insurance unless you go to the hospital with screaming pain they won’t see you.
I’m worried its the non-hodgkins coming back b/c I’ve had other symptoms as well. But, the cyst is so large, it could make sense that it is causing the pain. But they are located in the same place so I dont know which one it is.
