I have a tendency to get (painful) ovarian cysts alot, so my Doctor is putting me on birth control just to stop ovulation so I won’t get the cysts anymore. (I find it hilarious, because I’m a virgin going on the pill. Ironic huh?) Anyway, the type I’m going to use is levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol. I heard that it made you gain weight and make your breasts hurt. Is it true? It’s not like I’m not going to use it if it does, but I’d like to know in advance to know If I should like go to the gym or something.

My legs always hurt. my body feels like it can’t breath. I can’t retain any muscle- can’t really gain any weight either. I’m 5"9 weight is 114lbs. I have 4 kids and live a real stressful life. I as well have cervical cancer/ endometriosis / and ovarian cysts. I always feel real weak. I can’t afford a doctor- so I’m just trying to find out if my blood is too low and that’s whats causing some of my problems.

So I’ve been diagnosed with cysts in my ovaries and feel kinda shitty!
I have an appointment on Wednesday which seams to be so long from now if you know what i mean.
Im hot and cold, my body feels like a mess
few questions:
Are there any supplements I can take to prevent my cysts from growing larger?
Is it ok to work out?
I’ve lost massive weight and down to 98lbs and was wondering if anyone knows of any weight GAINING diets for people whom are vegan?
TELL ME ALL YOU KNOW ABOUT OVARIAN CYSTS IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED =]

Hello, I believe that I have ovarian cysts. I went to a doc a few years ago and he thought that is what it was and said if the pain doesn’t go away, come back. It went away. Usually the day before my cycle and the first day, I get a bad pain, about the size of a golf ball, right where my ovaries are. Usually it is on my left side, but sometimes on both.
My question is this..my period ended a few weeks ago. However, today, I started having pain on my left side, about the size of a golf ball, right where my ovary is. The pain is not as intense as it is the day before or the day of, but close.
could this be related to cysts and if so, why am I getting pain when it is not time for my period?
please help. serious answers only. thanks
thank you for your help so far. but has anyone with cysts had pain other than right around your period. can you have pain a few weeks before you start?

When I was 13 I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts. I was put on a birth control which solved the problem. That was 14 years ago. I’ve gotten married and had two children since then. About 9 months after having my second child, I started getting my period every two weeks. I get cramps that are so bad that it makes me throw up and basically unable to function. I get my period for 5-7 days every two weeks and it’s extrememly heavy with heavy clotting. And about 2-3 days before I get my period I get SERIOUSLY emotional and annoyed. Like I can’t tolerate anyone or anything and I’m normally a very tolerant person. My great grandmother had a hysterectomy at 26, my grandmother had a hysterectomy at 35, and my mother had a hysterectomy at 39. I made an appt. at the gyn. but I’m afraid of what they’re going to tell me. Has anyone gone through anything similar? I’m also afraid that they’re going to put me back on a birth control which will cause me to gain weight. I’m 27 and it is EXTREMELY hard for me to lose weight. I gained 68lbs with my first child and 30 with my second. I’ve finally dropped 30lbs, but it was terribly hard. I just don’t want it to be any harder than it already is.

I became anorexic back in 2002 and haven’t had a period since then. However, I have made the effort to gain some weight since then. Last Sunday my panties had blood all over them. I started jogging 45 min-to an hour a day but my pants feel snug. I thought it was just muscle. I get dizzy spells, I’m emotional, and my stomach is always growling. I also found out I have ovarian cysts(could that be the problem?). I have no insurance so I went to the planned parenthood and the preg. test, came back negative but they want me to take another test in 2 weeks. I thought I couldn’t get pregnant but the nurse said I could still ovulate. I’m so scared! My boyfriend and I want children, but now is just not the right time. I’m a cocaine addict and have only been off drugs for about 2 weeks(what damaged could I have done to my baby?). Could it be pregnancy? I’m so, so scared.

I had my first period when I was 11 years old and it was regular for one year. Between ages 12 and 17 it was irregular with periods every 1 to 1.5 months. In high school it became more irregular and the doctor said it is normal during high school due to study stress. After high school the same problem existed till now. I am 27 years old and I still have periods every 2 to 3 months and sometimes it is more. I used pills before and they work but I gain weight (not from eating) and sometimes if I use them for more than two consecutive cycles I start having short breaths and get tired very quick. I have tried different medications but all will have side effects such as vomiting and dizziness. I had checked for hormones, ovarian cysts,..etc. and everything looks OK. My height=5’2” and my weight is 162 lb. I have a healthy diet and even though I gain weight when I do not use pills and do not have a period. I am trying to conceive now and would like to have a regular period. Please Help.

I know from hearing other people’s apendicitis stories that usually if it’s your appendix, it will hurt if you press and release in that area. Also I read that if you stand on your tip toes and then slam down on your heels it will hurt if it’s your appendix. I’ve done both of these things and there is no pain when I do that. Also, I do not have a fever, I have not been nauseated and the pain eases up when I stand up. Is it possible I have an ovarian cyst? Or coudl I really have appendicitis without the typical symptoms? I know these are questions for a doc but I’m just hoping to get some answers from some people who have experienced appendicitis and/or ovarian cysts. I am scared. Thank you.

I get ovarian cysts and extremely heavy periods along with horrible cramps. My doctor wants me to take a low-dose birth control pill, but I’m unsure.
I heard it makes you gain weight or could put you at risk for cancer or not having children later on?
Is this true? Should I take it or no? I’m a horrible pill-taker.

What are some ways to subside the pain caused by two large ovarian cysts while waiting for surgery? My surgery is on March 30th, so I have a long way to go. I have been alternating between Advil and Tylenol and also using hot compresses.

I was diagnosed with a 2 inch (4.2 cm) ovarian cyst on my right side 2 weeks ago. It’s still causing large bouts of pain every 2 hours or so, and the prescribed pill isn’t working for pain. It’s been getting worse, and I’ve missed 5 days of school due to this.
My mom’s afraid that the cyst is growing larger or twisting, so she got me another doctor appointment for tomorrow morning.
I’m afraid, because I’ve been looking up information about ovarian cysts and tumors, that it might be twisting my ovary, or possibly growing larger.
My family has a history of ovarian cysts and tumors, and even cancer, and I was wondering how I could tell if it’s twisting or growing larger just by the way the pain will feel.
What does it feel like when it’s twisting or about to rupture, and how will I know if I have to go to the ER?

Got my appointment with some gyno specialist tomoro about some concerns with my ovaries (frightening talk!) Keep getting Pretty Large cysts on both my left and right ovary, abdominal pain, irregular and missed periods and weight gain (that sucks), Doctors trying to find the cause/treatment, got me on edge a little bit. Im almost engaged, wanting to start a family of my own (hes already got a couple troublemakers lol) kids are my life, ive worked with them and always wanted them. My mother couldnt have me and mirically concieved me through IVF (Invitro Fertilisation) (Test Tube Baby) only a couple years after the first ever test tube baby was born in 1986, im a miracle child! Ive been having nightmares ever since i had these things diagnosed by a doctor as ovarian cysts, although a common thing, mine are supposedly a large size and reccuring and bring a lot of pain with em every month, the words of a doctor haunting me in my sleep (we may birth control if youre lucky, if not simple surgery and worst case take out one of your ovaries), i havent slept in a couple days, just nervous. Me and my man have a long distance relationship; only while i finish my studies (i move back up in a few months) and im seeing him in 10 days but im just a little uptight, and I know the people on Yahoo answers can always give me a reassuring word of advice or a story lol fingers crossed!
