Im 15 years old, a virgin, and my period is nine days late. I know that my body is still trying to get regular but the thing that is worrying me is that my right groin hurts. I think that the pain could be my ovary and im wondering if i have an ovarian cyst.

I have researched some of the symptoms and it said gaining weight, and i have gained about 5 pounds the last two weeks (sucks, huh?)

Im really worried. Could this be an ovarian cyst or am i just over-reacting?

I was detected with ectopic pregnancy , as the doctors couldnt find fetus they had done an emergency surgical procedure and removed hemorrhagic cyst which was causing acute pelvic pain (left ovary)
after 2 DAYs and another ultrasound later, they still couldn’t find a fetus and advised me that I take a shot of methotrexate to dissolve pregnancy.
It’s been 3 weeks now, and I have suffered from chest pains, vomitting etc etc..but the thing that is bothering me the most is that I still have acute pelvin pain and the pain is shooting through my left leg. The pain increases and it is worst at night. (even painkillers dont help. )

I have repeatedly asked my doctor about this and they seem to be convinced that it could be due to bruising during surgery or blood clot

I have couple of questions, and I will appreciate if you have any knowledge or prior experience and can guide me

1. is this kind of pain normal? if yes, will it go away after few weeks/,months?
2. are there any time of exercise that i should do to get rid of these pains
3. if it is indeed due to blood clotting is there anyway it can be cured

4. should i check with my doctor again, and are there any other type of test i should request them to do?

I went to the ER about 3 weeks ago. The results was a ovarian cyst. Last year I had my other ovary removed due to a 12 pd cyst on my tube and my ovary was the size of a grapefruit. (I never had any pain until we found out about the 12 pd cyst) I’am birth control. About two days ago I started getting pain again and bad nausea. I’am having lower back pain too near my ovary. Isn’t 3 weeks enough time for the birth control to work? Thanks for the help. To clear up my details my right ovary is already gone. This is my left one causing trouble now.

I have been having pain in the left side where my ovary is, and it hurts into my left hip and the lower left side of my back hurts, but the right side where my ovary is swelled up. It also make my left leg hurt, and it hurts to sit, stand , or walk. It also feels full only on my left side…I have had an ovarian cyst before, but the only thing I had with it was alot of pain, and that was it.. I have an appt with my OBGYN march 5th, but I dont think I can wait that long. Could it be an ovarian cyst agian, or something else. I know noone knows for sure and this isn’t a doctors office, but I need some advice.

I recieved my period when i was 11. Up untill the age 13 & 14 that’s when i started to notice it was turing abnormal. I had a period for weeks and weeks (3wks or more) blood clots bad…. then. & they would also skip. When I turned 19 i started birthcontrol. It make them normal but then i quit taking them when i was just about turing 20 because i thought they were making me gain weight but it was my own genes doing that bit. I recently had surgery in Feb. 2009 because i was dignosed with an ovarian cyst and large mass tumor on my left ovary. Scarry but it was non-cancerous. I had open major surgery… the tumor was the size of 3L soda bottle. It was removed and I was recovering well… i was then again put back on birthcontrol for the next three months my periods were normal. perfect i loved it. After those three months…. i stopped the birthcontrol again because it cost 35 dollors a month for my daily pills and … my period has stopped as well.

what could this be? i’m not pregnate, i take pg test every two weeks, i dont drink, i smoke the ganja but that’s not harmful, i workout, i eat ok…, there is some stress in my life… i just dont’ know.
along with the removal of the tumor
they had to take my left ovary as well… so i only have one… my right.. could this make this big effect????
i haven’t had a period for 3-4months.

I had a hysterectomy in 97. I had my hysterectomy due to being pre-cancerous and also menustrating for 28 days each month for over a years time. Everything was removed except my right ovary. Since my surgery I have had significant weight gain, constant back and abdominal pain, and 9 yrs. later I still have no feeling where the scar is. Now I go back in for surgery once again in a few days to have my right overy removed and to have exploratory surgery due to all the scar tissue and other damage due to my hysterectomy. In the last 4 weeks I have been in so much pain, that at times it is unbearable. It is mainly in my lower abdomen and on the right side, but also continues to my left side and lower back. Sometimes it feels like labor pains. I was told that I had 6 cysts on my right ovary and that I have an 80% chance that this is ovarian cancer. I have had numerous tests done recently and alot of unexpected weight gain? Will my body?stomache ever get back into shape?

about five months ago i started getting really bad stomach aches. at first i thought it was just menstrual cramps, but the pain was so bad and so severe that i couldnt move and i felt like i was going to throw up. i was taken to the emergency room and checked for appendicitis, but it wasnt swollen. a few weeks later when the stomach aches kept happening, i got an ultrasound of my pelvic region and they found that i had a small cyst on my left ovary. since i have been on birth control, they said that the hormones that are in the pill could help make it smaller, so there was no need to be concerned at the time. a few days ago, i started getting the same stomach aches again. i had to pull over while driving because the pain was so bad. it hurts the most on the left side, which makes me concerned.. i dont know if i should bring it up to my doctor, or if im just overreacting? if anyone has any idea or has ever experienced anything like this before i would really appreciate hearing from you.

For the last week or two I’ve had on and off type pain and it bothers me every day and is sometimes very sharp. I heard that most cysts go away by themselves (mine got smaller) but I’m concerned about ovarian cancer and there’s a huge cancer history in my family but so far no ovarian cancer and my hysterectomy was not for cancer. I read that some benign cysts will require treatment in that they do not go away by themselves, and in quite rare cases, others may be cancerous. I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts about five or six years after my (TVH/kept both ovaries) total vaginal hysterectomy. I didn’t have symptoms of ovarian cysts when they were first diagnosed and the doctor ordered the ultrasound and kept an eye on the cysts with updated ultrasounds.The last ultrasound about three years ago showed the cysts got small enough and I didn’t need further ultrasounds.

1. Anyone have advice on dealing with the pain and would heat help if surgery isn’t indicated?

2. If it’s not gas or appendicitis I’m experiencing does anyone know what can be done for them besides taking out the ovary?

One doctor I didn’t like or agree with recommended I get my ovaries removed because of the history of cysts and I didn’t see him for that problem and he refused to help me with why I went in there and think he was just trying to get more money (the wait was over 3 hours in his office).Three other doctors agreed to not take out my ovaries including my surgeon if it wasn’t cancerous as it could prevent me from going into surgical menopause.

3. I’ve never had symptoms of menopause but does anyone know if estrogen if needed again would help prevent the cysts from getting bigger if present again or would it just feed ovarian cysts?
I was put on the estrogen patch 5 years later because my blood work showed I was low on estrogen and I didn’t have any symptoms of menopause. I was taken off the estrogen patch after it was thought that the narcotic pain meds I was taking for disc injury and muscle spasms could have caused the abnormality of the amount of estrogen in my system. I had my first postpartum period at 10 months, so heavy I had to go to the ER on doctor’s orders. Negative pregnancy test, no fibroids/cysts on ultrasound. That period lasted 8 days. On CD14, I started having a pinching feeling in my left ovary (not unbearable, but uncomfortable). It lasted a couple of days and was followed by brown spotting (when wiping only) on CD15.

I’m trying to figure out if it’s probably a cyst that developed since CD6, when I had an ultrasound, or if I am ovulating. I was irregular before my pregnancy, so I’m just trying to figure out what is going on with my body and if I should get another ultrasound or just go back on the pill as long as we didn’t accidentally get pregnant (had an uh-oh around that time).

okay, recently i wen to the gyno for an ultra sound due to severe pelvic pain. they found that i had a ovarian cyst rupture and perscribed Aless-28 to help reduce my risk of getting another one. I think im getting the generic form, im only 15 and ive read alot of really bad reviews. i heard it causes acne and weight gain. i already have a problem with acne and i really dont want to gain any weight because ive been trying to lose some. im already 141 pounds and 5/7 so i look fine but still. im really worried because of all the bad side effects. just wondering how it could possibly effect a 15 year old girl (who is not active by the way, just need it so my sticking ovary dosent rupture).

So I’ve had an ovarian cyst on my right ovary and we found it less than a month ago. (they found it in a sono after a miscarriage) I schelduled a tubal ligation and since my cyst has been painful to get it removed. Well I was really bloated all the time and the cyst caused me pain. My surgery isn’t until June (there was no other openings) and the pain and all that went away for awhile. But now its back bloated and pain on my right side. Can cysts go back and forth like be big one week and go down, bach and forth with sizes? I don’t know how other to word it but it went away and is now back…

I have at least one ovarian cyst. It’s on my right ovary and it used to be over 5 cms but I feel like it’s only gotten bigger.. But I just went in for another ultrasound a few days ago and I think I saw another cyst on my left ovary but they couldn’t tell me because I have to wait until my appt on friday. But this past week I’ve been have pain on each side. Like on my ovaries.. And I usually have pain on my right one that is like a cramping pain.. But now it’s like it’s being pushed on pain.. Like I have to go to the bathroom a lot because it hurts on my right lower abdomen if my bladder gets at all full.. Is this because my cyst is way bigger now?
Also. It doesn’t just hurt if my bladder is full. It hurts when I walk. Like I can feel something weird being pushed on..

Hello, I believe that I have ovarian cysts. I went to a doc a few years ago and he thought that is what it was and said if the pain doesn’t go away, come back. It went away. Usually the day before my cycle and the first day, I get a bad pain, about the size of a golf ball, right where my ovaries are. Usually it is on my left side, but sometimes on both.

My question is this..my period ended a few weeks ago. However, today, I started having pain on my left side, about the size of a golf ball, right where my ovary is. The pain is not as intense as it is the day before or the day of, but close.

could this be related to cysts and if so, why am I getting pain when it is not time for my period?

please help. serious answers only. thanks thank you for your help so far. but has anyone with cysts had pain other than right around your period. can you have pain a few weeks before you start?

I was diagnosed with a 2 inch (4.2 cm) ovarian cyst on my right side 2 weeks ago. It’s still causing large bouts of pain every 2 hours or so, and the prescribed pill isn’t working for pain. It’s been getting worse, and I’ve missed 5 days of school due to this.
My mom’s afraid that the cyst is growing larger or twisting, so she got me another doctor appointment for tomorrow morning.
I’m afraid, because I’ve been looking up information about ovarian cysts and tumors, that it might be twisting my ovary, or possibly growing larger.
My family has a history of ovarian cysts and tumors, and even cancer, and I was wondering how I could tell if it’s twisting or growing larger just by the way the pain will feel.

What does it feel like when it’s twisting or about to rupture, and how will I know if I have to go to the ER?

ok my doc believes i might have an ovarian cyst..but we havent done any tests on it yet cause she wanted to see if some medicine would help it before we did anything else….well my symptoms are

*My left ovary hurts really bad, like a constant cramp
*I have back pain
*My Abdomen hurts and it sometimes feels numb..
*My lower back hurts (around the kidneys)
*My shoulders sometimes hurt
*Im extremely tired all the time
*I feel bloated
*Im gaining alot of weight
*For some odd reason my appeitite has increased

What do you think is wrong? Why do you think my appeitite has increased? Do you think this is serious? On a scale of 1-10 how bad do you think?

the doc gave me 600mg of Ibprufen…but it doesnt help with the pain!! and im going tomorrow to see her again…i just want to kinda know what is happening…thanks so much!!
