Help! What is wrong with me?

I am a week late for my period. I don’t have perfectly regular cycles, but they usually tend to be around 33-35 days. Today is day 42. My last cycle started December 8. I’m almost 100% positive that I’m not pregnant. I’ve taken 16 hpts (I know, it’s a lot, I’m paranoid) including one this morning. I’ve gotten a doctor’s urine test and a blood test when I was four days late. Everything has come back negative. And if I was pregnant, I would have conceived on December 18 which should have been long before I ovulated. But I’m having all sorts of weird symptoms. Lightheadedness, slight breast tenderness (which I do get before my period, but it hasn’t come yet), light cramping, weight gain, nausea, etc. I also have a burning pain sometimes right inside my left hip bone. The doctor said that I might have an ovarian cyst or PCOS. That seems so strange though, because I don’t usually have major health issues. Why is my period so late? What is wrong with me?
I’m 22 years old and I started my period when I was 10. I haven’t been this late since I was in high school. That’s why I’m worried.

Pain from ovulation or Ovarian cyst?

I have PCOS, and for the first time EVER I got a positive opk the day before yesterday. Yesterday I felt crampy nothing big. Tonight I have pain in my right ovary like it’s being poked by needles. I just recently came off the pill because they were not helping my ovarian cysts. My questilon is…could this be a legit ovulation that is causing pain, or is it the stupid ovarian cyst. I don’t want to get my hopes up if it’s a sham. Please help me! Thank you

could i be havin polycycstic ovarian syndrome?

im 25 n have been havin irregular menses since puberty.but now it has gotten worse.i had my menses thrice in march n in april for 2 weeks.and i have been gaining weight.
my LH,FSH n prolactin levels r norm.there are no cysts and no tumors in hypothalamus or pituitary.
i think i may b havin PCOS but cant confirm till i get back 2 my country to run a full checkup.
im a medical student n i thght perhaps estrogen-progesteron contraceptives might help.but im afraid it will make me gain more weight n worsen my symptoms.pls help….thnx

the nurse practitioner put me on metformin 500 because my insulin level was high, not low and I’ve had irregular periods since I was 11. but it didn’t regulate it and my insulin had lowered a great amount. The nurse couldn’t figure out what was wrong. But another nurse had given me some information on PCOS. so I did some research on it. and come to find out, I had every last symptom that was listed. So my mom asked the nurse to get me tested. they did an ultra sound to see if there were cyst or anything, both inside and out. they called a few days later and told me I had polycystic ovarian syndrome. ones busted/ruptured or something ,I have cyst, and I have fluid all around on the lining. something like that. my mom was in a hurry and didn’t tell me where I could understand. Anyways, the nurse wants to put me on birth control, but isn’t that used for the same reason metformin is? and is one of the side effects for metformin weight gain? because my weight is always constantly up and down,. out of nowhere I’ll lose 10 pounds and then gain 13 back. But when I went to the doctor about one in a half weeks ago, came back and found out I gained 10 pounds in only a week and a couple of days. I’m pretty sure it was the medicine, I’ve never gained that much weight in a week or so. should I tell the nurse? or should I just start watching what I eat? so after I take the pill, what’s next? is that it? I’ll still be able to have children, right? it’ll just be harder for me to conceive? or is there more to it? are they just going to leave my ruptured ovary?

Possible ovarian cysts or related problem?

Your Question
Can someone inform me about ovarian cysts?
Hi, I’m hoping that someone who has had ovarian cysts, PCOS, or something related can provide me with some advice…

I didn’t get my period from June 14 through October 18. I went to my student health center (at my college) and had some tests done, ruled out pregnancy and thyroid abnormalities, but showed that I had low FSH levels. The nurse practitioner suggested I get tested for PCOS but since the most likely reason for my missed periods was my recent weight loss, I figured it would just be better to see if my period becomes regular after I worked to gain some weight and then decided whether to get the test done.

Well, I got my period in October, but then it hasn’t come in November. Instead, I’m getting these random, but very mild throbbing pains in my pelvis and thighs as well as persistent mild aches in my hands. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative so I’m going to get this checked out, but somehow the nurse’s conclusion (that I may have PCOS) doesn’t seem likely to me since I don’t fit any of the symptoms: Not obese (in fact I’m a little underweight), no abnormal hair growth or loss, nothing of that sort.

So I was just wondering if it is normal for women to have these kinds of problems. Are ovarian cysts common? What do they feel like?

I would really appreciate any advice you can give me.

I’ve taken yaz (my favorite out of all of them), ortho tri cyclen, ovcon 35, Lo Ovral, Ortho Novum 1/35, the progesterone only minipill, and ortho tri-cyclen lo and I bleed through the active pills on all of them.. I’m not talking about spotting here, i’m talking about bleeding like a stuck pig for months at a time. I need a pill that will prevent ovarian cysts, won’t cause weight gain, and won’t make me moody. Any suggestions?
Oh, and it has to be NON androgenic, as I have high testosterone levels due to my PCOS.
at least 3 months on each one.. the only one I DIDNT give three months was the progesterone only minipill.. I was the DEVIL for the month and a half I was on this one. My poor fiance.. he caught the brunt of the evil lol. I absolutely WOULD NOT tolerate it any longer.. but the other ones I have been on for at least 3-6 months each.

Ovarian Cyst Symptoms?

I haven’t had my period since May 25th, and for the past three months I’ve been told assume that I’m pregnant until confirmed otherwise. I’ve had no confirmations at all, and just today I was just told by my pathetic excuse of a doctor, that weight gain, food aversion, smell aversion, increased appetite, heavy achey breasts, ance breakouts, constepation, hot and cold flashes, mood swings, bloating, and no period are all causes of PCOS and/or an ovarian cyst.

Is this true?

I haven’t had any pain or discomfort in my pelvic region, nor do I have any unusual raised areas where a cyst could be, so to me these are pregnancy symptoms. I’ve had normal and regular periods for 10 years now, not missing one.
I know that PCOS and ovarian cysts cannot develop overnight, or even within a week. There’s just no way. My GYNO doctor would have detected any abnormalites when I had my annual pap towards the end of May.

Can anyone give me some detailed information (if you or a family member went though it) on these conditions, and other possible symptoms?
I’ve seen a doctor 3 times within the last 2 months, and all all 3 visits (including today) I was told to just continue on thinking that I’m pregnant. My temp. doctor now just wants to give me a shot of progesterone to induce a period and restart my period…(without even checking to see if I’m pregnant or not).
Since I’m military (spouse), I cannot switch doctors. I have to be referred.
I did take a test. The period I missed was supposed to be June 22. I took a HPT 4 days later. Negative.

I’ve always had problems with food. It’s not really that I eat too much, just that I eat the wrong things (junky things).

I have PCOS, and to stop having painful ovarian cysts, I am supposed to go wheat-free, dairy-free, low-carb, and eat lots of vegetables. Of course, all of the things that I crave the most are the things I have to quit eating (like pizza, cheese sandwiches, jalapeño Krunchers potato chips, etc).

Even though I had bad pain for about a day and a half this month, I can’t seem to make myself start doing the right things. Does anyone have any tips regarding self-hypnosis or visualization or other techniques to help me get past my junk food addictions and do the things I am supposed to do?

I had this listed before under health, but only got one response. I’m really looking for mental techniques to help me, so maybe this is the right place. I don’t really believe in super-strict diets like this, but I’m told that this is what I need to do to prevent painful cysts
