period pains with ovarian cyst?

I’ve got 2 – 3cm ovarian cysts that are giving me horrible pains in both sides of my stomach & i feel like i have bad period pains with the backache (no bleeding). I dont like fussing so try and avoid the doctors but does this all sound normal for a cyst? Thanks
